My family enjoyed our stay at Margaret's home over the Christmas holidays. I can't say enough positive about her lovely house. Margaret was accommodating and made us feel very welcome. The central location allowed us to walk everywhere or take a metro into DC.

If you are looking for a great place to visit the Washington DC. Area, look no further. As a native, this is the perfect spot conveniently located close to Reagan Airport, Mount Vernon Estate and the Nations Capital. You can walk to restaurants and even take a ferry over to National Harbor. The house is amazing, comfortable and plenty of blankets to cuddle and watch movies downstairs. This is a perfect home and location for a nice quiet week visiting the DMV. Peggy and her husband couldn't be more hospitable. I hope I get to visit again soon. All the best. Eric.

I spent 27 years as the wife of a U.S. diplomat and raised my children on four continents. I bought the Alexandria home in 2010 after my husband died and just after the house had been totally taken down to the studs for renovation. I spend time both in Central Virginia as the wife of a retired University of Virginia professor and Alexandria where most of my Foreign Service friends still live. We both love to travel and meet new friends and are happy to introduce them to Old Town Alexandria, a totally charming colonial town on the Potomac with sought-after, 15 minute access to the delights of Washington D.C.
