Altre cose da evidenziare
Is Casa Vista Belize the right fit for you and your group? Thank you for your interest in our property! We want to ensure that all our guests understand the basics of our home before booking, so here is a little information to assist you and your group.
Background on Casa Vista
For those of you unfamiliar with Caye Caulker, the north side (where we are located) and the south side are separated by a channel. Until last year, the north part of Caye Caulker (where we are located) was off the grid. It is now in the developmental stage and in the years to come will have many of the amenities as the town of Caye Caulker currently possesses. Currently, we must go by boat to the grocery store and to the center of Caye Caulker to purchase any items we need.
We have apartments in the bottom floor of our home that are designed for my husband and I as well as our caretakers who live onsite year-round. This environment is highly corrosive and requires continual maintenance. Their job is to ensure that all components of the home are functioning and to fix anything in need of repair. They are also there to assist you during your stay with any questions you may have about the house. Additionally, they are responsible for transporting you and your group once daily to the other side of the Split (town) which is approximately a 5 minute boat ride. We offer one round-trip daily at no charge to our guests. Additional transportations services can be requested and costs $20/boat round-trip.
Both of our caretakers are licensed guides. One is licensed for tours on the water and the other is licensed for tours inland. If you would like to utilize their services please let me know so I can obtain pricing for you and your group’s potential excursion.
We offer SUPs and Kayaks for you to use in and near the property. Due to past guests damaging this costly equipment, we ask that you seek guidance from our caretakers on how to use them so that you and the equipment remain safe. There is also fishing and snorkeling gear that you may use around the property as well.
Our pool is a basic concrete 43’x 8’ pool with an infinity edge. We extended the infinity edge after the hurricane to cater to small children. The main part of the pool is 4’ deep.
Electricity & Water
We are now on public electricity, but public water will not be added until later this year (which is unpredictable in this country…the pipes are there we are just waiting for the hook-up). We strive to use rain water for the majority of daily uses. When the rain water is exhausted, we use our well water which tends to have a sulfuric scent. We do not offer laundry on-site as we try to conserve our rain water as much as possible. There are plenty of inexpensive and efficient laundry services provided in the center of town. The water is not potable and neither is city water. We have a water cooler located in the kitchen for your cooking and consumption needs.
We offer hot water in some of the bathrooms. These are external units located at the shower head as the house was constructed with pvc piping, it is not possible to have traditional hot water heater to which most people are accustomed. The external units are shower heads that may only be adjusted when water is turned off. We personally do not use hot water nor feel the need to with the warm temperature of Caye Caulker. In fact, the outdoor showers remain our favorite!
This information will hopefully give you and your group the appropriate information to make your decision. We love our remote location and privacy, but with that comes details that are important for each guest to consider:-)
Guests may use the property however they wish as long as the noise and activities is respectful to our neighbors and onsite staff:-)
Our caretakers will be your boat captain, concierge, and "go to" person for all your questions and needs!
