Hello everyone,

Awesome idea to come to Lisbon! If you're looking for a place to stay try to get in the heart of the city right in the center where you can go easily to every great place the town has to offer you. As they say in Chicago it's all about location, location, location.
If we were coming to Lisbon we would love to stay near Avenida da Liberdade or Chiado or/and of course near Principe Real.

Well it happens we are ... just next to Princípe Real

Our apartment is located in the historical area of São Mamede, also known as the seventh hill having Principe Real as a reference. Right in the center of the city you can walk to most of historical sites such as Marquês de Pombal and Avenida da Liberdade (5 minutes), Chiado (15 to 20 minutes), Amoreiras (10 minutes) and of course Bairro Alto (10 minutes).

With a close metro station, the famous 28 tram and with the bus networking crossing Largo do Rato you can easily go to places like Belém to visit Jerónimos Monastery and Belem Cultural Center (we recommend bus number 727). You should also visit Gulbenkian Museum which has an easily access by subway.

How is the apartment?
We love our place. But there's nothing like see it by yourself. It has a private backyard with a vintage bed where you can relax and chat, a big table and a second support table made with pallets for having delicious meals. We love to make barbecues.
The room has a very comfortable double bed with solid wood, a large chest of drawers and three vintage shelves, closet and a desk turned to the backyard. During the morning it catch sunlight so for sure you will always wake cheerfully.
The kitchen is fully equipment with everything you can imagine and desire. There's always fresh coffee for Bruno and dark chocolate to Sandra as it will be to you.
By the way we have WI-FI in all apartment so you can be always connected. Also you will have towels and sheets such as soap and shampoo.

Who we are?
My name is Bruno, I'm an entrepreneur and for a long period I've been renting the apartment to Erasmus students, with whom I've created some amazing friendships. Sandra is my brilliant girlfriend who is finishing her masters in Economics and loves poetry. Feel free to stay any time of the year, meet a nice Portuguese couple and most importantly experience a pretty cool European capital city.

How to arrive to the apartment?
From the airport
Metro - Red line and arriving in Saldanha you change to yellow one. Get out in Rato and go out where it says Rua do Salitre. (1.90€)
Using Uber (it works in Portugal) - well it's great you just put our address and you here
Taxi - I will suggest tell him to drive into the middle of the city instep of getting the highway (so from Av. do Brasil) if it's not a traffic hour.
Bus -Take 744. Get out in Marquês de Pombal. Then you have to walk or take the metro for getting out in the next station.
We can always help you out more.
There's a shortcut to arrive to our place. There's a parking lot right behind our building that it's next to Restaurante Rota das Sedas (good one by the way). If you cross it you see it right away.
We recommend the lisboa cool app and getting the Lisboa Card to get free or discounted entrance to all major Lisbon museums, sights and tours

We can tell you many more

Bairro Alto is a picturesque working class quarter dating from the 16th century that has traditionally been the city's bohemian haunt of artists and writers. Its grid of streets is quiet during the day, but is transformed at night into the city's vibrant nightlife quarter.

Chiado is an elegant, sophisticated district of theaters, bookshops, old-style cafes, art nouveau jewelry shops, luxurious international names such as Hermes, and local treasures such as the opulently gilded Tavares Rico Restaurant opened in 1784, the fine porcelain shop Vista Alegre, or one of Portugal's international fashion designers, Ana Salazar.

Principe Real is an area known for its antique and interior design shops on Rua Dom Pedro V and Rua da Escola Politecnica. In the streets from the Principe Real Garden down to the riverfront, especially in Rua de São Marçal, are attractive 19th century townhouses and some of the most tranquil spots in the city, such as the leafy Praça das Flores.

Estrela, dominated by a huge domed basilica. It is not too far from the country's parliament, the neoclassical São Bento Palace, and connects to the west to opulent Lapa, the diplomatic quarter with grand embassy buildings and old mansions. It is also the site of the Ancient Art Museum, one of the city's top attractions.

Supermarket and shopping
Embaixada - an old palace refurnished into an vintage shopping mall
Entretanto - it's an indoor market in a historical building
We have four supermarket around us
Pingo Doce (our preference)
Continente and Mini-Preço (DIA in others countries)
Pão-de-Açúcar (from Auchan group)
Amoreiras Shopping mall - it's actually an iconic building with three towers for the 90's because it's from the Portuguese architecture Tomás Taveira

This place was great! Pretty close to the Bairro Alto which made it nice to just walk home late at night. Very close to the metro and bus lines. Not very close to the center of town but that was fine with us. Bruno and Sandra are awesome. Very chill and helpful. The bed was a bit small for two people but it was fine. The patio was nice but we didn't really spend too much time here because we were out all day. I would stay here again.

The apartment is well located and everything is in walking distance. Lovely to be located somewhere close to the metro, the city centre and to stay somewhere not surrounded by tourists. The apartment itself is very clean and homely. I would highly recommend staying with this lovely couple as they are so easy to chat to and were genuinely interested in how my day in Lisbon was. Overall great apartment, lovely couple and great location all you need to have a wonderful visit to Lisbon.
