Overall: One step above a hostel.
Pros: Cheap. Approx. $40 USD a night for maximum 4 people. We were a party of 2. Location was good. Close to the city center (Mitsukoshi department store) and bus routes. The decor was a fun motif of camera equipment and Lego kitsch.
Cons: Smelled like mold in the bathroom and on the bed. The wifi was non existent for the first night which was a major drawback as we would prefer to contact family and friends to let them know that we have arrived and finalize our plans for the next day. Unfortunately, the host did not meet us for check-in, which might have resolved the wifi issue on the spot. Instead, we need to go back and forth several times via messenger to convince the host that the wifi was not working. It was ultimately resolved the following afternoon however the service still spotty because of the router location and signal strength. Even when we moved closer to the router to obtain full bars, the internet speed was quite slow.
These are simple fixes that can be addressed in the future. If the host can / is willing to do it, this place has the potential to be an excellent value Airbnb listing.
