Truly an anomaly in Los Angeles, this house is known by friends as the "sanctuary" or the "enchanted garden." Only 10 min from downtown, this private gated community boasts some of the last undeveloped land in the city. Dirt roads lead to 30,000 sq foot of private orchard with a truly unique, rustic, bizarre...and "enchanted" garden. This is the perfect secluded atmosphere for writing a novel or making love in a bird cage. I have 3 huge bird aviaries with doves and exotic hens. My house is filled with the most positive juju with earth elements and eclectic books. Escape the city, within the city, to this wild hidden gem that is truly "off the grid."
2 BR, 2 story house with loads of character. Kick off your high heels before you head down the dirt path, and get ready to howl with the coyotes, coo with the doves, and lounge in my bird cage.
There is no public transportation close to the area, and a car is pretty mandatory unless you prefer to be here specifically for the seclusion. Be as loud or as naked as you want.... no one will see you.
I'm a photographer, writer, and poet... this is my vacation home inside the city. Be aware.... I have NO tv. ;-)
This space is often used for commercial shoots. If you plan on doing ANY kind of commercial photography, the rates go up based on level of invasiveness to the land (or my home) and usage of the images.
Private room, kitchen, tons of outdoor space.
Depends on the guest. Most of the time I'm too busy... but I'm super relaxed and herb friendly.
This place feels like a hidden escape from the city, but it's only minutes to Downtown, Highland Park, Silverlake, or S Pasadena. The neighborhood has incredible mom n pop Mexican food restaurants, too.
Gold line runs close ...but is still a 10 min walk.
Pretty open minded... I'm an artist, not a grandma.
