We are a 6-acre organic farm rooted in the old Hawaiian ways of love for the land and sharing with the wider community. Visitors staying at Mohala Farms will have a clean, comfortable, private cabin surrounded by Hawaii's natural beauty and bounty.
Mohala Farms is a non-profit educational and commercial farm established in 2005 in Waialua, on the North Shore of O'ahu. The farm is in a safe and secure location at the base of Mt. Ka'ala, the tallest peak of O'ahu. We are five minutes from the town of Haleiwa and the beautiful beaches of the North Shore.
The cabin is powered by solar electricity, with a room light and floor lamp. A composting toilet is attached to the cabin's front porch (under roof and with a light) and a wash basin with running potable water is attached on the back side of the cabin. (A flush toilet is available also 50 yards away in the main farm community structure.)
There is a community shower, with hot water, that you will have access to at all times.
There is a community kitchen with hot water, appliances and a gas burner for cooking that you will have access to at all times. A separate, small refrigerator is also available for your personal use if you would like to use this.
While all areas that our guests are staying in and utilizing are cleaned regularly, please do know that this is a working farm and a little more open to the natural elements than you will find at a hotel or in a residential neighborhood. There will be ants, non-poisonous cane spiders, and the occasional gecko and cockroach. To best avoid their company in your cabin we recommend you keep your screen door shut. There is always someone available to accommodate your needs, should you experience any discomfort.
Be sure to check the detailed directions provided upon confirmation of your reservation to ensure your arrival to the farm goes smoothly. All routes and gate codes are provided.
Guests are welcome to access all parts of the farm during their stay and experience the day to day life of a working organic farm in Hawaii. Guests will also have the opportunity to utilize some of the fruits and produce grown on the farm, participate in farm activities and community meals, and meet and get to know the farm crew -- staff, "wwoofers", other volunteers and farm friends -- as desired.

Since farm workers tend to go to bed on the early side, we expect all guests to be respectful of this and reduce the volume of any music and conversation by 9 pm. We will avoid using power tools or loud machinery until 8 am.
