The MacKenzie is a nice cozy room with a wall of books waiting for you to peruse! The double sleigh bed, quaint electric fireplace and en-suite bathroom await you along with a 24' pool, an outdoor hot tub! Enjoy :)
This room is unique because the house itself is unique. The people who visit help the experience be a better one overall. The room is calming and beautiful and over the years, people have told me how much they like the coziness of the room. It is not suitable for 3 people though. This we have learned. One to two people max and it is a double bed.
The guests have access to their rooms, the BBQ on the deck, the outdoor pool and hot tub, the grounds, and the kitchen --- within reason as I will be baking and cooking in it a lot of the day. The common area is now a small dining room so please feel free to come up and enjoy as you would your own kitchen table.

I think that guests should dictate the level of interaction and times that they feel works best for them. Guests get to chat with each about the days events and what to expect the next day! When guests want to chat with me, they just come on into the kitchen and converse, I like the company and I have gotten very good at working and talking at the same time!
Enjoy it as if you were staying at your cool Auntie's place, think that maybe Gramma is visiting but over all, be happy. I say that we are all adults. Please keep your clothes on in the pool and hot tubs and we are all ok. Us Canadians are kinda bashful.... Especially at Aunty's house! All is good, just remember to use your inside voices after dessert time because some guests are off to bed. The rest enjoy the pool and/or hot tub and continue the conversations of the day.

I have been hosting guests for 10 years and am hoping to do so for at least another 10 years! I love "collecting books" so I have a background In the library world and enjoy everything Home Economics. I studied Human Ecology/Home Economics at MSVU in the early 90's. I enjoy baking and cooking and teaching people how to do whatever it is I know how to do in the line of cooking, baking and crafts. I enjoy walking around my community with my dogs. I am adventurous and often called a gypsy because I take off every fall to work away and meet new people. I am thinking of staying home this year to spend more time near my grandchildren. We adore each other! Come to Cape Breton Island and see why we are considered as the one of the top three Island's in the world to visit! My mantra is "Believe and you will Achieve". I am located 1/2 way around the famous Cabot Trail.
