Just 1 block from Restaurant Row on SE Division. Highly walkable with easy access to the #4 bus line. Incredibly charming home with a friendly host, adorable Golden Retriever, chatty kitty and all the restaurant and hiking guides you could ever want.

The house is literally a block and a half to dozens of desirable restaurants and cafes. I do not provide food or beverages. You are welcome to bring in beer, wine and other refreshments and use my kitchen with respect.

Comfy private room in SE Portland cottage with shared bath. I have a great little home just a block and a half from the thriving foodie district on SE Division. The neighborhood is super walkable -- just 10 blocks to the famed Seven Corners New Seasons and 3 blocks from legendary Pok Pok.

Your room has a high-end, super comfy queen sized bed, and the room is decorated with an eclectic mix of modern and antique. Overall, my house -- built in 1910- is quite charming and cozy. (Please note that this is a small home, and my bedroom is just inches away from yours. If you are looking for a romantic getaway, this is not the right place. I am fully supportive of people having a vibrant sex life, but my home is not the best place for that.)

The shared bathroom has beautiful glass tile work and a porcelain pedestal sink. My kitchen is homey and includes a cute vintage stove.

You're welcome to keep food in my refrigerator, but I recommend that you check out all the nearby cafes and restaurants instead. I'd prefer that you not plan on preparing meals here. There's a little coffee maker in the kitchen if you want to bring your own coffee. I have filters.

The front porch has 2 Adirondack chairs and the backyard has a patio table complete with umbrella for hanging out on a sunny evening. (Summer in Oregon starts July 5, in case you haven't heard.)

My cat Chica is very social and my Golden is very affectionate so if you're not into animals, this probably isn't the right place for you. I've been told by a few guests that my cat's meowing in the early morning is an unappreciated alarm clock. This can be solved by feeding her if I'm not around for some reason. Update: as I continue to host more and more on Airbnb, my cat seems to love my guests more and more...and she prefers them to me. So if you aren't into cats, this may not be the best place for you :)

Easy access to public transportation (lines 4 and 14) and easy on street parking. It's about a 15-20 minute ride to downtown Portland. Transportation from the airport: $35 cab ride or one hour by train/bus.

Guests are welcome to enjoy the common living area, porch and backyard. My kitchen is spacious, and you are welcome to keep stuff in the fridge, but I find that most of my guests eat out every meal given the incredible location in the middle of Foodieville!

I have a busy schedule, so I'm usually coming and going. I'm happy to provide as much guidance as you like for your stay in Portland -- I love showing off my town! -- but you're free to go your own way, too. Feel free to ask me all about Portland as well as day trips to the coast and mountains. I love to play travel agent!

The bathroom is shared. This is usually not a problem for anyone. Typically, my guests are on vacation and are on a pretty flexible schedule, and I am off to work in the mornings. It's inevitable that there will be times when we'll want to be in the bathroom at roughly the same time. I find that chatting the evening before about the next day's schedule is a pretty easy way to avoid most scheduling conflicts.

Richmond was recently named in Sunset magazine as one of the best neighborhoods in the west. It is really booming now. New restaurants and cafes every day, it seems. Very walkable and friendly.

If you're reading about Portland, you'll find the area referred to as Clinton/Division or Restaurant Row. I'm just 10 blocks from the Hawthorne District.

The Line 4 bus is just a block away on SE Division. It's stop 1448 if you want to look it up on Trimet's website. The Line 14 that runs on Hawthorne is just 10 blocks to the north. The MAX doesn't run to my neighborhood, but it is possible to take the train to a bus line and transfer. Parking on the street is pretty easy except evenings when the nearby restaurants draw lots of cars to the neighborhood. During about 5-10 p.m., you may have to park a few blocks away.

I have a really adorable dog named Florie. She's a friendly Golden Retriever, and she'll be very excited to see you. My cat Chica (she's an immigrant feline from La Paz, Mexico) will want you to feed her when I'm not around, and that is highly encouraged!

My home is a 1910 charmer that is divided into a duplex. I live in the downstairs unit which is about 950 sf. My neighbor Jason lives upstairs and is really easy going. You may not see him or you may run into each other on the front porch. He's very friendly.

Because my house is over 100 years old, there are a lot of charms and sweet features. There are also some realities of an older house like squeaky wood floors and a bathroom door with a creaky door knob.

My house is small, so I keep stuff in all the small closets. I will need to access your room occasionally to get stuff. I usually do this in the evening when my guests are out. I will, of course, be very respectful of your space and will always ask you before coming into the room!

Due to ongoing theft problems in the neighborhood, I'd recommend you not leave stuff in your cars overnight.

I just assuming that folks are kind and considerate so I don't list a lot of rules. I haven't found that to be necessary. I'm not a night owl, so I'd expect that my guests wouldn't be out too late or would be noisy when they got home, although I've found that I sleep through most anything! :) I get up early to go to yoga or the gym most mornings so if you like to sleep in late, I might not be the best host for you. My kitty appreciates attention, and if I'm out of the house, she might want you to put some extra wet food in her bowl.

My house is small, so I keep stuff in all the small closets including the room you will be staying in. I will need to access your room occasionally to get stuff. I will, of course, be very respectful of your space.

You're welcome to use my fridge and coffee maker, but I'd prefer that you not cook here. There are a gazillion places to eat within a few blocks. Please do not leave any left overs in the fridge when you depart.

Because the bathroom is shared, I generally touch base with guests at night to figure out the shower schedule the following morning. It's rarely a problem because I'm usually up and out of the house before guests are getting up and about.

Ashley's house is the perfect cozy spot when visiting Portland. The house itself is gorgeous, adorned with sentimental charms (including a signed picture of the Log Lady from Twin Peaks. My husband and I totally geeked out). The room is the perfect size for 1-2 people and we even had our pup with us. There are so many great places to eat and shop within walking distance (including some of our favorites, Pok Pok, Salt + Straw and Imperial Brewing) and it's nestled on a very sweet suburban street. Ashley is an amazing host, taking to our dog quickly and kindly and letting us know about a neighboring park nearby in case Olive wanted to run around and play. Florie and Chica, Ashley's dog and cat are super sweet and loving and make the house feel like a home. Thank you for opening your doors, Ashley!

Cute house located walking distance from SE Division Street shops and restaurants (Richmond neighborhood). Ashley was a great host and the room was delightful. We also loved meeting Florie (her dog) and Chica (her cat); both were very friendly. Would stay here again.

I love living in Portland. I feel so fortunate to be part of a vibrant community. I'm currently working on a political campaign focused on securing more funding for affordable housing.

I'm so fortunate to live in a really fun neighborhood -- Clinton/Division (also called Richmond) -- the home of some of Portland's greatest restaurants including Nuestra Cocina, Pok Pok, Whiskey Soda Lounge and more! Do not miss the SE Wine Collective on SE 35th/Division!

As a single woman living with a dog and cat, I tend to spend a lot of evenings out on the town with friends or hosting friends on my back patio. I'm a very warm and kind person and love sharing information about my city (as well as nearby hiking trails) with folks who are new to town. If you're looking to move to Portland, I have a great network of folks you can meet either for job hunting or real estate options.
