We are sorry that you experienced the apartment to be cold and that this had a negative impact on your stay. Due to the warm climate, we don’t have central heating in South Africa as you have in Germany, and this is a known deficiency of buildings here. But we always try to ensure that our guests have the most comfortable stay possible while they are here which is why we leave a thick blanket per bedroom, 2 electric heaters and also electric blankets on each bed which is more than sufficient, especially during the summer months in Cape Town. In the winter months we also provide a gas heater to provide a more intense heat if required.
Thanks for bringing the shower water pressure issue in the secondary bedroom to our attention. Based on this feedback we have decided to upgrade the geyser to increase the water pressure and improve the shower experience. As you pointed out, a tap running in the kitchen reduces the pressure in the bedroom shower and we will be upgrading the system to prevent this scenario happening.
Note that the apartment is not our secondary home as you suspected, but rather our main dwelling. We stay in our secondary home when only when we rent out the apartment. We never advertise it as modern, but rather homely, it is after all our home.
Thank you for the useful feedback, and safe travels!
