The Teise & Hopbine have King size beds(5ft) and The Teise has additionally a singlebed. The Kiln has a large double bed & day bed with trundle, so perfect for 2 adults & 2 children, could only list for 3, so do contact us to book this for 4, save paying for 2 rooms. We have not listed 3 rooms as want to give people a personal experience, so the extra room is so families or friends travelling together can book, so do contact us, if this is the case. All linens and towels are provided. You are welcome to help yourself to tea, coffee and some basic breakfast. You may use the kitchen to cook if you wish and there is a utility room to keep food, as guests have their own fridge, freezer & storage, we only ask you to clean up after yourself. If not we are well served with lots of pubs and a couple of restaurants. Two rooms have their own sink and shower and there is a further bathroom and toilet & another toilet downstairs. The Teise has its own floor & bathroom. We have WIFI. There is a pretty garden leading down to the river Teise, with a summer house for sitting and enjoying the views. There are also plenty of tables and chairs, lovely for sitting out in the warmer weather. For fisherman, the river has carp, chub and some trout.
The street we live on, is a pretty residential road only a minutes walk to the village shops, including a little supermarket,( including a deli), open 7am-7pm most days & sunday 7am-4pm. Royal Tunbridge Wells, is a 20 minute drive away. The village is well served with an excellent European restaurant , a Vineyard restaurant and several other good pubs. There are many attractions to see in this beautiful part of Kent, with the coast, including the gorgeous historic Rye & the many attractions of Hastings a 30 minute drive away, Brighton & the white cliffs of Dover aprox I hour away.Local attractions such as Scotney Castle, Bewl Water & Bedgebury, walking distance or a very short drive away, as on the outskirts of the village, great for sailing, cycling, bird watching & fishing. Trains to London are approximately 1 hour from Frant station in the next village or a faster line at Paddock Wood & Tonbridge aprox 15 minute drive. We are also lucky to be near many historic places, for example, within 20 minutes drive, is Kiplings home Batemans, Battle & Sissinghurst Castle. 30 minutes away is Winnie the Pooh's home Hartfield & aprox 40 minutes are Leeds Castle & Churchills home Chartwell.

Kitchen breakfast room & utility, Dining room/living room ( piece a vivre) & garden, with summer house.

We give advice on where to go,(some how to get in free),local walks etc, what the local pubs & restaurants offer in terms of food, at what prices, to suit all budgets , maps & leaflets to lots of places of interest, walks & attractions & offer directions. This house is also large enough for guests who want privacy, as we have a separate sitting room & bedroom with en- suite in a different part of the house, even has its own staircase! With the river & summerhouse , most people find it very relaxing here. The summerhouse, has heating and light, so writers (and readers), find inspiration down there by the river, with views, even in the winter months.

Friendly quiet village with a good selection of traditional pubs and a local shop, open on Sundays. There are several walks, over Lamberhurst Golf course, Scotney Castle estate & around the Vineyard etc without even getting in a a car. Also a well stocked playground for all ages, including a zipline! Lots of nearby attractions such as Scotney Castle, Sissinghurst, Bewl Water Reservoir, Bedgebury (including Go Ape), Battle, Batemans, Leeds Castle,Rudyard Kiplings home & Chartwell, Winston Churchills home. The coast is only 30 mins away, including the pretty historic Rye & Hastings.

We recommend hiring a car, as buses are infrequent. Good train line at Frant or Wadhurst 8 minutes away & very good line at Paddock Wood & Tonbridge 10 + minutes

As we have said before, have to be dog & cat friendly to stay here.

Staying here was one of the best things decisions I made on our trip to England. Carol made us feel instantly like family, and the town of Lamberhurst is lovely. The room was comfy, cozy, clean, and full of charm. I would definitely recommend staying here! This is the kind of place that makes doing Airbnb great.

I had booked a round of golf at dale hill, we found Clive and Carol's to be a small 8 minute drive away which was perfect. There was plenty of parking on the quite Street outside, and the moment we walked in felt welcomed. Their 15th century old house which used to be a pub had all of the lovely quirks you would come to expect, with a large garden overlooking a large stream and mountain in the distance. The room we stayed was large and clean, with plenty of storage and leaflets with local attractions was a nice touch. The private upstairs bathroom was fantastic and finished to a great standard. All in all great stay and I couldn't recommended it enough.

Carol and Clive are perfect superhosts. The place is magical, so clean and tidy, with comfy beds, tasty breakfast (local eggs and bread plus a wide range of tea and coffee) and an AMAZING hot bath and shower, that together with Carol's energy, transports to a wonderful land way beyond and better the usual Kent experience. I loved it. I want to live there. I hope they adopt me.

We have lived here for nearly 20 years and have enjoyed living in what used to be an old pub and still has many of those features. Main interest is theatre both on and off stage and heavily involved in what what goes on in the area. Enthusiastic cook and enjoys entertaining, always looking to have fun. Well that's Clive, probably time I added me!! I ran Lamberhurst Open Gardens, on July 6th. We raised nearly a thousand pounds for the church stone repair fund. I run a monthly Quiz, fiendish but fun & a cribbage evening. The stage is not for me, tried once never again!!! Couldn't even manage , being in the chorus for a British Legion show. But how would the thespians manage without us back stagers!! Learning to grow orchids. Also enjoying collecting Olympic coins, along with other types. I love reading. As you know we love entertaining, we love our wine & hold a yearly wine evening. So I am the one down by the river, wine & book in hand, enjoying Clive's food!!
