My promise to anyone thinking of staying with Ingrid and Francesco: This is likely to be the most fantastic Air-BnB service you will ever experience. And even better, if you travel with a dog this is your place to stay. End of story.
I have never experience service levels like what Ingrid offered during our 16 days stay. So, where to start trying to explain objectively how this is: Upon arrival, the rooms were full of fresh fruit and vegetables from Ingrid's garden and throughout the stay we continually were served fresh supplies like plumes, cucumbers, pears, zucchinies, and tomatoes. The refrigerator had bottled cold water. About the rooms, the areas we had to ourselves were twice the size of what we expected. 2 fully functional kitchens, 2 living rooms, 2 bathrooms, sleeping rooms etc. All the rooms are very unique in the sense that they are restorated with respect to the original purpose of the house, being an old monastery from mid 13th century.
Another fantastic part of the house was the swimmingpool area. A marvelous swimmingpool approximately 12m x 6m in size with clean fresh water. The constant cleaning of the water made it perfect for the whole family to relax in during the hot hours midday.
Let's get back to how this is great if you travel with a dog. We have never experienced such a service when travelling with a dog. Ingrid offered to keep the dog at their place (the floor level of the house above the ground level rental floor) when we considered full day trips to Rome and water parks. During those days Ingrid and Francesco would feed the dog, go on long walks with our dog (and their own dog) and provide fresh water, bones etc.
All in all, I am humble to have experienced such a nice vacation. We are now in our 'zen' zone having spent 16 days/nights at the best place we could think.
Why did we choose this location? Up front it met all of our criterias: Perfectly situated. Perfectly balanced. High standards. Big Swimming pool. And pet friendly. To break it down a little: It is close to Rome (180 km) allowing for a day trip there which we did - without living door to door with all the tourists of Rome. It is close to the beach (25 km) allowing for a 30 min drive there which we did - without needing to stay in a tourist crowded party place. It is right on the edge of two national parks to allow you to appreciate nature at its fullest. It is located in a small village allowing you to have the feeling of Italy really baked into the bones. All in all, we feel that we were offered a small and unique serving of the best Italy has to offer.
Thanks Ingrid. Thanks Francesco.
