300 square meters spread across a 4 bedroom main house and a 2 bedroom guest on the same gate property. The views from the property are simply stunning. The main house has a spa in the basement with a steam room and sauna as well as a wood burning fireplace in the main open plan living and kitchen. The main living room is 65 square meters with 5 meter ceilings. Impressive is the word that comes to mind when you enter. The balcony on the main house runs the length of the building and is great for enjoying an early morning coffee, and afternoon beer or to catch the last rays of sun hitting Mont Blanc and the Bosson Glacier. My personal favourite is to take the 60x zoom telescope out there and watch climbers ski down from Mont Blanc. That is a unique experience.

The biggest benefit of the property (besides being in the perfect location, completely renovated to a ridiculous standard and all the random bespoke features such as instant boiling water taps for tea...) is the second guest home. Equally renovated to a ridiculous standard it gives larger groups or families the benefit of privacy and peace and quiet if part of the group wants to stay up a bit later or get up a bit earlier in the morning. It really makes this place unique and special. Oh yeah and the terrace on the guest house has marginally better views to the Mont Blanc!

This is the best part of Chamonix as you are literally 40 meters from the Aiguille du Midi cable car giving you access to the most epic skiing in the world. You go from 1056m at the front gates to 3842m on the cable car. There is a ski shop across the street. 1 of the 4 Michelin Star restaurants in Chamonix is 75m from the gates. There are 5 supermarkets all within 500m. The new music and performing arts building is across the street. A new 5 star luxury residence is under construction 200m away. Parking for 8 on the property is a real luxury in Chamonix especially in the high season but there is also the bus stop for the free shuttle bus 25m front the front gate which takes you to all ski areas in the Chamonix Valley if you don't feel like driving.

I like bikes and I like coffee.... There is a LOT of Nespresso in the cupboard, help yourself and let me know which one you like best! I have a pair of Tacx Rollers if you are so inclined to train indoors we can arrange a bike for it.

Matt's home is just as described. We were there for a large family get together. Mat was incredibly responsive throughout our stay and provided us with the extra items we needed for the kitchen almost immediately. Sauna and steam room were the highlights for all. Would recommend for any type of group. Thanks Geoff and Lucy

Very nicely decorated chalet with a separate guesthouse. Very central location right next to the Aigille du midi and among all the restaurants, supermarkets and the main street. Very clean and tidy and most rooms come with private bathroom/toilet. Fully equipped kitchen. Host is very accommodating and flexible when we asked about adding guests.

Matt was a very welcoming, responsive, and communicative host and the listing was exactly as pictured, except prettier and more modern with a cosier feel in person. Between the main house and the guesthouse, all 12 people in our group fit very comfortably to sleep, eat meals together, and hangout. We even made use of the spa facilities in the main house. Chalet also well-stocked with Nespresso capsules and Le Petit Marseillais bath products. Location wise, it’s within 1-2 minute walk to Aiguille du Midi and multiple ski rental shops, pharmacie, and other amenities. Brevent / Flegere where many of us skied was a bit more of a hike – 10 min walk to the bus station and another 10 min bus ride. During our 5-day stay, we had one brief power shortage (lesson learned: don’t turn on the spa AND steam room AND have hair dryers going at the same time…) and the hot water cut in the main house one night – but the beauty of having two houses on the property is seconds-walk over to the guesthouse and a plumber came to fix it early the next morning. As an understanding and trustworthy host, Matt also went above and beyond in finding and sending back to London an iPhone that one member of our group accidentally left at the chalet after our stay. Fantastic experience with great memories, we would definitely come back here again!

This modern chalet was beautifully designed and uniquely tailored for our posh group of 9 friends (4 couples, 1 single, 2 kids) who like to ski, spa, and enjoy some R&R. Nothing beat the view of Mont-Blanc! Having said this, it comes with its draw-backs so read the description carefully (i.e. not kid-friendly, truly fits 8) and definitely look at the cancelation policy. I found Mike was very accommodating at selling the place (i.e. adding a guest house to our reservation for extra guests), but not too flexible to change the reservation thereafter (i.e. removing the guest house once those extra guests couldn't come). We ended up paying 50% of the guest house bc we booked/canceled the reservation within 3mos. It's understandable but being a host myself, I'd rather have been more accommodating to those things especially for such a high rate. You're paying premium for the house, not quite the service. If that's important to you, then better stay at a premium hotel.

Hi Nelee - I think the misunderstanding lies in the fact that you in fact booked all 6 bedrooms (i.e. the main 4 bedroom house and 2 bedroom guest house) as was the original inquiry that you sent. The places are listed separately on airbnb as well as the combined package but you originally booked the combined packaged as is patently clear in the description (if you in fact read it). You are 100% correct when you say that the main house accommodates 8. It does; It is also advertised as such. I wish that you had read this before you booked as I think that you would have been better suited booking a hotel. The cancellation policy is also equally clear. It is strict. Sorry. My advice to guests would be that you should read (and understand) what you are booking before you book. Once you have read it, my advice would be that you should book the main house if you are in fact 8 people or you should book both houses if you are 11 people such as Nelee's group. I made this clear to Nelee over the course of responding to her myriad of repetitive questions. I say repetitive because copying and pasting the Airbnb description (which she obviously didn't read) of the property seems repetitive. I am not sure why you booked a property that clearly says it sleeps 12 when you are 11 and then insisted on reducing the rental to only include the main house which accommodates only 8 guests? If money was the issue (as you stated in your messages) then you should have booked something at a lower price point. As per our myriad of exchanges before your stay, you didn't end up paying the 50% Cancellation policy because you booked and cancelled within 3 months. You paid the 50% cancellation policy because you booked in November and asked to cancel 1 month before you arrived (after I had already declined more attractive reservations that overlapped with your reservation). You also forget to mention that I offered to give you 100% refund if I was able to find guests to fill the reservation for the guest house (which in fact I did make a genuine effort). Additionally you forget to mention that I made an exception to the 4 night minimum stay and allowed your group to stay for only 3 nights. I appreciate feedback when it is accurate. Unfortunately in this case it is factually inaccurate and I have all of your message correspondences to back that up. For the record (which is also clearly stated in my profile and from our messages) my name is Matt, not Mike. I think if you pay more attention to detail going forward you will be better served on Airbnb and in general. Thanks, Matt

An incredibly beautiful house and great stay for a large group. The house is very spacious, has great modern facilities and a lovely large kitchen and living room, a perfect place to gather after a day's skiing. The location is great, walking distance from the main town and restaurants. Matt was a great host from start to finish. We would all love to return!
