Our fully updated character home on Vancouver's prestigious West Side offers lovely living space for a family. We're on a quite, tree-lined street one block from Point Grey Village, 11 blocks from the beach, and one block from major bus routes.

Our house was originally built in 1930, and has cove ceilings and beautiful woodwork throughout. It has been restored and renovated, with a thoroughly modern kitchen and bathrooms. All rooms are spacious and comfortable.

Guests will have access to the top two floors of the house (approximately 1500 sf of living space), and shared access to the laundry room in the basement. Our university-aged son will be living in our basement suite during your stay. Please note that this is our regular living space - we are making it available while we are traveling, so we will leave many of our personal possessions in the space.

We will be traveling during your visit, but our son will be available to welcome you and answer any questions you might have.

Point Grey is a beautiful, quiet, tree-lined residential part of the city - most of the housing is single detached houses, and the earliest homes date to the early 1900's. We are about one block away from Point Grey Village - a charming 3 block section of W 10th Ave with numerous unique shops, cafes and restaurants. We are close to the beach (~12 blocks) and love having picnic dinners there. UBC is BC's largest university and is only a 5-10 minute drive away - the Museum of Anthropology is perhaps the most famous attraction there, but the campus is lovely and well worth a visit. There's also a new Biodiversity Museum with a blue whale skeleton suspended from the ceiling that shouldn't be missed.

We are very conveniently located just off the major east-west route in Vancouver - buses run every few minutes along W 10th Ave, stopping 1 block away from our house, and the express buses (99B-line) stop at Sasamat - about 3 blocks away. We are half a block away from the Ridgeway Bikepath.

Please note that we strongly prefer to rent out our space for longer stays (at least one week). We will not accept requests for stays under one week until much closer to July (e.g., if we need to fill in gaps between longer stays).

We normally prefer to allow at least one day between guests to ensure that the house can be properly cleaned. However, we haven't blocked these cleaning days on the calendar to allow the maximum flexibility in accommodating booking requests. If you are requesting dates that start or end the same day that another guest is arriving or departing, we are happy to discuss whether we can properly accommodate your planned arrival or departure time.

We use a cleaning service and can make arrangements (at cost and upon request) for them to service the house during your stay.

You are welcome to use our back patio and BBQ, and to make use of any of the staples we will have in our kitchen (we only ask that you replace anything that you substantially use up).

This home is very accurate to the pictures and in a beautiful neighborhood in Vancouver. It is an excellent location for any program or kids camps at UBC and is 3 blocks from a great playground with an amazing view of Vancouver. It is only one block from some local shops, butcher, groceries and small restaurants, so we thoroughly enjoyed the location. Antony was very responsive to e-mails and easy to communicate with and a welcoming host. Their lovely garden patio made for wonderful cups of tea in the evening and they have one of the best BBQ's I've used while renting a home. We barbequed almost nightly and had all the supplies one would need. This is a great property for a family with children or a couple who don't want a cramped condo. There was also ample information on the local area and things to enjoy. Lastly, the children will tell you the TV was awesome, as was the Wi-Fi!
