The old town (Vieux Nice) beneath the hill is a maze of streets and alleys, with many picturesque houses, boutiques and home to the daily flower and fruit market of the Cours Saleya.
Near the central bus terminal, there is also the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MAMAC) with four connected towers featuring modern and contemporary artists and their sculptures, paintings, and conceptual installations. Its open-air roof terraces offer one of the best panoramas of the city.
To the west, there is the Musee des Beaux-Arts housing an excellent collection of pastels and other works by Jules Cheret, among other artists.
Cliff Walk — If you go past the old port (probably 15 minute walk) heading east toward Monaco, there is a little pathway that leads from Coco Beach along the side of the cliff, the "Sentier Littoral" which you can follow around Cap de Nice half way to Villefranche, but be prepared for several hundred steps up to rejoin the road. It’s a very beautiful walk and you will find mostly local people using it.
Although we never met Yohan, his friend Audrey passed us the keys and gave is wonderful information about good local restaurants. She is very friendly. The condo is great for the location. It's right in the heart of old Nice. It's in an older building and there are long flights of steps but overall, we were satisfied with our stay.
This was our first experience with AirBnB, and I couldn't have asked for a better one. Yohan was quick to respond to communications leading up to the time and check-in went smoothly with Audrey, who was helping out while he was away.
The location of Yohan's apartment is central to old Nice and is just a short 1 minute walk from the tramway stop (very convenient if you're arriving in Nice by train) and about a 5 minute walk to the beach.
The apartment itself was clean, comfortably appointed and there was plenty of room for two people and a bunch of luggage (as long as you can handle walking it up several flights of stairs). It was a nice touch to have basic condiments available, as well.
Overall, a great place and experience with our host in a really charming spot in Nice. Definitely recommended!
The apartment is right in the heart of old Nice - the perfect location for exploring the town and close to the castle too if you fancy a walk and a beautiful view over the city / promenade.
Yohan was really helpful and the booking process was speedy with good communication. His friend Audrey met us to provide the apartment keys - she was very friendly and spoke great English, and answered all of our questions e.g. where to hire bikes and so on. She also gave us advice on restaurants to visit nearby, which was great!
The apartment is up a few flights of stairs, but this was fine for us and meant it was very light and had a great view of the castle!
Yohan's apartment is big and has an ideal location in Nice for exploring the old town with its great restaurants and cafes, beach and all the major sights. It also has everything that I needed during my stay.
I didn't see Yohan, but Michele took care of letting me in the apartment and giving all sorts of information about the apartment and the surrounding area.
The apartment is in the 4th floor in an old building so there is no elevator. This was not a problem for me, but this should be taken into consideration if you dislike walking stairs up and down possibly many times per day.
I highly recommend Yohan's apartment for staying in Nice if you want to be close to everything in the old town!
Yohan's department is really great. As others said, the location is almost perfect. You have the sea and place Massena at just 5 mins. Also you are in vieux Nice so you will always have something new to do! The view is really nice as you can see the little waterfall in the top of the castle hill. Also 10 mins to the north there is Carrefour TNL so you can find good prices really close. Yohan is a very nice guy. He is very attentive and always try to make his best in order to make you feel comfortable. Do not hesitate to contact him as he always replies fast and friendly. As the department is in a corner and 4th floor, it has a very nice amount of sunlight that I think it's not usual in vieux Nice (lot of buildings) so it is definetly a plus. The department is also well equiped with TV, wash mashine, heaters, iron, vacuum cleaner, etc.
Photos in Airbnb are totally real (I think the appartment is bigger in person).
To be honest, the only con is that it is in a 4th floor without elevator and the stairs are quite small so maybe it is not a good choice if you have problems using stairs everyday. I think this is common in Vieux Nice as almost all buildings are really old. In this case, the building seems to be a little old but the department itself seems to be new for all the refactions and stuff inside.
I have stayed here for 2 months and it was definitely a good choice!
Location! Location! Location! This is the right place to stay if you are visiting nice. Central enough to walk the whole town and a few minute walk to the beach. Stores, restaurants and bars abound! Yohan was very responsive and had someone waiting for us when we arrived. The place is cozy and comfortable and we enjoyed having the kitchen to keep all that French and Italian cheese cool while we vacationed. Yohan also let us use his washing machine which was helpful after being on the road for 10 days. Highly recommend!
The apartment is great. Location wise, you couldn't get better. Slap bang in the centre of everything that you need.
We only really talked with Alicia (as we had no problems). She brought us to and from the airport. She was so friendly and nice and she really went out of her way to talk to us and let us know about the area.
The apartment has a bit of everything in it. This must be from an accumulation of the people who stay and leave something behind. We left behind two blow up beds for the beach :-)
