My "Peaceful Secluded Berkshire Setting" listing has a pillow-top double bed mattress with the first floor bathroom very close by.

The house is home to two beautiful cats. I have had people stay in the house who are allergic to cats, but with their basic medication have done fine. The house is meticulously cleaned and vacuumed before any rentals, but if anyone in your party is super allergic to cats, they may react to some of the dander inherent in a house where cats live.
Unlimited use of entire first floor with private bathroom. Cook breakfast, store goods in refrigerator, make some tea, relax in grand open room, build a fire, play the spinet piano, or browse our extensive libraries. Enjoy our backyard, patio area, fire pit. Walk in our woods or sit on the bench at our pond. Free parking.
We live here, so we always try to greet our guests in person upon arrival and departure, in addition to our phone calls and emails before arrival. We often make breakfast for our guests and enjoy chatting over a cup of tea or coffee after our guests return from their adventures.
Pleasingly quiet and secluded, yet fairly close to neighbors in our rural setting. We enjoy watching and listening to the birds at our feeders, noticing the deer and turkeys traveling through our yard and woods, listening to the seasonal serenade of the frogs peeping, and the owls hooting. Go outside and enjoy nature- it's at your service.
Free parking on site. A vehicle is needed to get around in our rural area. Use our bikes, canoe or kayak for recreational travel!

Becky and Bob made us feel welcome from the very first. Everything was just as described in their listing. They were very generous in sharing their home and we plan to stay there the next time we are in Canaan.
The stay in Becky's home in Canaan exceeded our expectations. We had a very comfortable and restful stay. Becky went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, serving us tea and making a beautiful breakfast. However, what I most appreciated was the opportunity to learn about Canaan and the area from her, tapping in her recommendations for places to eat and play, as well as her knowledge of local history, culture, and politics.
Rebecca has a lovely home in the Berkshires just a few miles from Kripalu Yoga Center. The first night we made dinner together which was delicious and enjoyable. The room has a comfortable bed and private bath with both tub and shower options. I totally enjoyed my stay.
Becky and Bob are very warm and welcoming. The accommodations were comfortable, and my children and I felt right at home. They made us an excellent breakfast, and even made my 3 year old son a special pancake when he didn't like blueberries in his! Thanks to you both.
We loved staying with Becky and Bob and their two friendly cats. Breakfast was delicious each morning (thanks Becky!) and the dishwasher was great too (thanks Bob!). We enjoyed good conversation with our hosts as well. The house was close to Tanglewood, cool hiking spots, and the county fair. Our room was clean and all the accommodations were comfortable. It's a lovely location, safe and lots of fresh air. We hope to be back!
The reservation was canceled 38 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
This was my second time staying at Becky's. She was so warm and welcoming the first time that I knew my friends would enjoy staying with her as well. For me on this second visit it felt like visiting with a friend, very comfortable and relaxed.
We got some great insider info. about restaurants and found a local one that was delicious and didn't require a reservation on a Tanglewood weekend. This and driving directions to anywhere we could think of is invaluable and Becky's breakfasts will fuel you up well for any destination! :

I am a retired elementary school teacher with grown children who live in NYC. My home is available as a B and B or as a full house rental. I love hostessing and sharing my home with others. I love making people feel comfortable and helping them take advantage of this area.
I have spent much of my life traveling. I have spent a year in Mexico and Guatemala and a year in Ecuador. I have traveled to most of the US states, to Europe and Israel. I hope to get to Africa and Asia before I die. I usually stay at hostels because I enjoy meeting other people. In another life I would like to run a youth hostel. This could be the next best thing.
I am an outdoor enthusiast and particularly like hiking, swimming, bicycling, kayaking and gardening. When I am feeling down, it is usually because I haven't had enough time outdoors.
I play the clarinet with the Eagles Band in Pittsfield, Ma.
I have lived in this home for 30 years. I currently live with my boyfriend and 2 cats. Presently I work for the Berkshire Immigrant Center and for Common Good Finance, an organization creating an alternative, local economy.
