This is the heart of Spitalfields and undoubtedly one of the trendiest areas in London. The design of the apartment is minimal, grey and white. It's all open plan and you have it all to yourself.
Welcome to Flat 4, 20A Hanbury Street, Spitalfield.
The open space penthouse apartment (52m2) with a long terrace (12m2) takes up the entire 4th floor of an ex-artisan building. The space is very bright with wonderful views across old and new London. One side is made up entirely of floor to ceiling sliding glass doors. There is a white curtain which covers the entire front so you have privacy. The windows towards the other side all have blinds which keep the sun out during early summer mornings.
There is a designer kitchenette which doesn't look like a kitchen, you have to open a lid to expose it. It includes an induction hob, sink and a fridge.
There is a Nespresso machine as well in case you don't want to go downstairs to buy one (i.e. at nude coffee shop, see below).
Please note that there are a few designers working out of the 3rd floor space between 9:30am and 6pm Mon-Fri. They are very nice people and they can help you if you have any questions. There is wireless internet access as well of course.
Just to be clear: the 3rd and 4th floor are not connected (other than through a communal staircase) so you have total privacy upstairs.
An extra WC provides a washing machine on the half way landing. There is secure parking within the old Truman brewery building, directly opposite.
The apartment is located in London's most trendy area, in the heart of Spitalfield, which was established by the Huguenots in 1685. Everything is at your doorstep, from elegant shops to vintage places, galleries and restaurants.
London's oldest market, Spitalfields is now a seven-days-a-week destination and less then 100m away. Resplendent under a Fosters & Partners-designed glass canopy, the market and shops offer cutting edge fashion and interiors, original artworks as well as food. Spitalfields market is surrounded by independent shops, cafes, bars and awarding winning restaurants like Canteen, Galvin La Chapell, St. Johns and The Wright Brothers.
On Hanbury Street you will find London’s best fish and ship shop as well as Nude, which allegedly serves the best coffee in town.
Hoxton with its galleries, bars and restaurants is in walking distance as well as Whitechapel gallery and famous Brick Lane just a stone throw away with its countless Indian and Bangladeshi restaurants. There is a market on Brick Lane, one within the old Truman brewery and last but not least Columbia Flower market, which is a casual 15 minutes stroll away. This really is market heaven on Sundays.
In case you want to explore the rest of London (trust me, you will be forgiven if you don’t bother) – access to public transport is just a 7m walk away – Liverpool Street with its direct connection to Stansted Airport, Algate East Stn and busses to London Bridge, St. Pauls Cathedral and Tate Modern – offering direct links to the West End, Soho and beyond.
It is no wonder that world famous fashion designers, artists and creative agencies have made this place their home. It really is a special place. You will see.
Ah yes, strictly no parties. I am sure you understand.
Other than to your apartment you have access to an extra WC on the half way landing where you will find the washing machine in a cupboard which you can use anytime. The apartment is on the 4th floor so be mindful if you have heavy luggage to carry, there is no elevator.

I am a designer running a branding agency in London and Berlin, traveling between both places on a regular basis. I love London and have done so for the past 15 years. Never tired of it. Love the Arts, Design, the East End, Arsenal and hip hop music. And I enjoy meeting new people - the spice of life really.
