L'alloggio

Sleeping in this large, bright, second story corner room with 9 foot ceilings and 3 large windows makes it seem as if you are lying among the clouds! The room cost of $110 includes 1-2 people and a full breakfast. The bathroom is only two steps outside your door and shared only if the Walnut Room is booked. The queen bed and nightstand were custom made by Amish craftsmen, from cherry trees timbered on Luftberg Farm, to match the antique cherry dresser. A comfortable stuffed armchair and antique spool spindle table grace the sitting alcove and make it the perfect place to read or use your laptop. Make use of the terry robes provided. Enjoy the hugeness of the bath sheet towels. Take in the fresh smell of 100% cotton linens that are air dried. The down pillows and duvet are light and airy. An old fashioned "feather bed" mattress is available upon request, as are wool and synthetic blankets and pillows.

Accesso ospiti

Enjoy a cozy wood burning fireplace while you chat, watch TV, read or access your email by WiFi in the main living room. In the den, you can also watch TV (not flat screen) or play one of the many board games that the family has gathered over the years. You may want to borrow one of the Classics from the bookcase and kick back in a LazyBoy chair to read.
Or take your reading material onto one of the three porches to enjoy the fresh country air:
The screen porch allows outdoor sitting without the bugs while you watch the birds and butterflies feed on the many flowers in the backyard.
The wide wrap around front porch with rocking chairs and porch swing is a serene place to sit as you watch Amish buggies drive by and cows graze in the pastures in the valley.
The back porch is an ideal place to watch the birds and wildlife in the woods or enjoy the sight and sound of the fountain in the small pond or the water as it trickles down the waterfall on the hillside behind the house.
Enjoy a nature/camping/hunting experience without having to sleep outside:
Walk the many paths through 15 acres of woods while you look for deer, squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits, wild turkeys and groundhogs, as well as wild flowers and mushrooms. Or cross country ski the paths in winter.
Follow the Bluebird Trail and check out the nesting boxes to see the eggs and baby bluebirds up close.
Roast marshmallows or camper pies in the woods around the campfire just a short walk up the hill behind the house.
Enjoy a picnic in the shady grove while the kids swing under the trees or play with the collection of Tonka trucks and dozers in the sawdust pit.
Outdoor games are available such as cornhole, ladder golf, bocce ball, foursquare, ring toss, molkky, Frisbee golf...
Hunters can enjoy a comfortable bed and be only five minutes away from Mohler Wildlife Area, the state hunting grounds located on Brokaw Road.

Altre cose da evidenziare

A delicious home cooked breakfast is included in your stay:
Be pampered and served as your relax and sit at the kitchen table to eat and watch the many birds that come to the feeders just outside the window.
Or enjoy your meal on one of the porches or in the picnic grove.
For a more formal ambience, request your breakfast in the formal dining room where the table made from a cherry tree from the Luftberg woods can extend to twenty feet!
You may choose to participate in your breakfast by gathering your own eggs from beneath the friendly Buff hens, or picking fresh vegetables from the garden to include in your scrambled omelet. The hunter in Bryan would be pleased if you tried his fried venison summer sausage with your eggs. Enjoy pancakes or waffles served with maple syrup that Bryan and Ruth help to make each spring at a neighbor's sugar shack. Homemade bread, still warm, served with Ruth's strawberry, raspberry and blackberry jams, or fresh coffee cakes and cobblers may also be offered. If you are into lighter fare, start your day with Ruth's favorite; fresh fruit, granola and yogurt.
Coffee, tea and cocoa are available 24/7 in the Butler's Pantry.
Special dietary restrictions or food allergies may be accommodated with advance notice at the time of your reservation. Arrangements for breakfast should be made upon check in. Normal serving times are between the hours of 7am and 9am. Other times may be accommodated by special arrangement.

Provisions for campfire cooking and picnics can be provided with advanced notice for an extra fee.

We request that if it is necessary to cancel your reservation you do so in a timely fashion so that the room may be re-booked. While we are understanding when sometimes a last minute change in plans is unavoidable, we cannot typically afford to have a room empty due to a last minute cancellation.

Huge thanks to Bryan and Ruth for a great place to stay. Beautiful, warm home with very nice rooms and a delicious breakfast to fuel up before a long bike race. What really makes the stay is the hospitality and friendliness of the owners! Fantastic, fast communication. Thanks again!

The Inn is lovely, the hosts' are gracious, and the breakfast was AMAZING - eggs fresh from the backyard chickens among other homemade goodness. My daughter and I were taking a road trip from Atlanta to tour colleges, and this was a wonderful place to stop. The Inn is a beautiful drive through the Ohio countryside to either Oberlin or College of Wooster (the places we visited).

Bryan and Ruth provided a lovely getaway. Their home has a rustic charm you would expect from a B&B in small town Ohio. Their grounds are beautiful and we were serenaded in the evening on the screened-in porch by a bullfrog! We had a short stay (1 night), otherwise we would have loved to have a fire in the firepit, a short walk from the house. We will definitely call on them again when we are in the area.

Highly recommended. Bryan and Ruth truly made the experience memorable. Pleasant personalities and very accommodating. I have a gluten intolerance and Ruth prepared a delicious gluten free breakfast. The house and property are both beautiful and peaceful. If you need to get out of the city, this is the place for you. The location is very close to many great sites and activities. They are a very fun couple to sit and chat with. If we decide to come back to this area, we will definitely be calling Bryan and Ruth.

Though Bryan and Ruth's lovely place is a little off the beaten track, it is perfect for anyone looking for a comfortable, rural home stay with good friends. Bryan and Ruth are warm, welcoming, and keep their home immaculately clean and with every amenity. Great breakfasts and great conversation! We'll certainly be back.

Profilo utente di Bryan & RuthBryan & Ruth è un Superhost.

We planned and built a large modern country farmhouse in 2004, with the intent to share it as a B&B during retirement years. Bryan is a retired teacher, having taught high school biology and anatomy for 38 years. Ruth is a retired registered nurse. We have lived on our 38 acres since 1974, raising kids, livestock and flower and vegetable gardens. We enjoy traveling the world as well as hiking in God's beautiful outdoors in our own woods and fields. Winter finds us reading before the warm fireplace, crafting in the woodshop and quilting in the sewing room.
