This 206 sq ft room is 1 of 4 available at the B&B. It has a queen bed and an intimate sitting alcove. The bathroom is 2 steps outside your door and shared only if the Walnut Room is booked. A full country breakfast included.

Sleeping in this large, bright, second story corner room with 9 foot ceilings and 3 large windows makes it seem as if you are lying among the clouds! The room cost of $110 includes 1-2 people and a full breakfast. The bathroom is only two steps outside your door and shared only if the Walnut Room is booked. The queen bed and nightstand were custom made by Amish craftsmen, from cherry trees timbered on Luftberg Farm, to match the antique cherry dresser. A comfortable stuffed armchair and antique spool spindle table grace the sitting alcove and make it the perfect place to read or use your laptop. Make use of the terry robes provided. Enjoy the hugeness of the bath sheet towels. Take in the fresh smell of 100% cotton linens that are air dried. The down pillows and duvet are light and airy. An old fashioned "feather bed" mattress is available upon request, as are wool and synthetic blankets and pillows.

Accesso ospiti

Enjoy a cozy wood burning fireplace while you chat, watch TV, read or access your email by WiFi in the main living room. In the den, you can also watch TV (not flat screen) or play one of the many board games that the family has gathered over the years. You may want to borrow one of the Classics from the bookcase and kick back in a LazyBoy chair to read.
Or take your reading material onto one of the three porches to enjoy the fresh country air:
The screen porch allows outdoor sitting without the bugs while you watch the birds and butterflies feed on the many flowers in the backyard.
The wide wrap around front porch with rocking chairs and porch swing is a serene place to sit as you watch Amish buggies drive by and cows graze in the pastures in the valley.
The back porch is an ideal place to watch the birds and wildlife in the woods or enjoy the sight and sound of the fountain in the small pond or the water as it trickles down the waterfall on the hillside behind the house.
Enjoy a nature/camping/hunting experience without having to sleep outside:
Walk the many paths through 15 acres of woods while you look for deer, squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits, wild turkeys and groundhogs, as well as wild flowers and mushrooms. Or cross country ski the paths in winter.
Follow the Bluebird Trail and check out the nesting boxes to see the eggs and baby bluebirds up close.
Roast marshmallows or camper pies in the woods around the campfire just a short walk up the hill behind the house.
Enjoy a picnic in the shady grove while the kids swing under the trees or play with the collection of Tonka trucks and dozers in the sawdust pit.
Outdoor games are available such as cornhole, ladder golf, bocce ball, foursquare, ring toss, molkky, Frisbee golf...
Hunters can enjoy a comfortable bed and be only five minutes away from Mohler Wildlife Area, the state hunting grounds located on Brokaw Road.

Altre cose da evidenziare

A delicious home cooked breakfast is included in your stay:
Be pampered and served as your relax and sit at the kitchen table to eat and watch the many birds that come to the feeders just outside the window.
Or enjoy your meal on one of the porches or in the picnic grove.
For a more formal ambience, request your breakfast in the formal dining room where the table made from a cherry tree from the Luftberg woods can extend to twenty feet!
You may choose to participate in your breakfast by gathering your own eggs from beneath the friendly Buff hens, or picking fresh vegetables from the garden to include in your scrambled omelet. The hunter in Bryan would be pleased if you tried his fried venison summer sausage with your eggs. Enjoy pancakes or waffles served with maple syrup that Bryan and Ruth help to make each spring at a neighbor's sugar shack. Homemade bread, still warm, served with Ruth's strawberry, raspberry and blackberry jams, or fresh coffee cakes and cobblers may also be offered. If you are into lighter fare, start your day with Ruth's favorite; fresh fruit, granola and yogurt.
Coffee, tea and cocoa are available 24/7 in the Butler's Pantry.
Special dietary restrictions or food allergies may be accommodated with advance notice at the time of your reservation. Arrangements for breakfast should be made upon check in. Normal serving times are between the hours of 7am and 9am. Other times may be accommodated by special arrangement.

Provisions for campfire cooking and picnics can be provided with advanced notice for an extra fee.

We request that if it is necessary to cancel your reservation you do so in a timely fashion so that the room may be re-booked. While we are understanding when sometimes a last minute change in plans is unavoidable, we cannot typically afford to have a room empty due to a last minute cancellation.

My husband and I booked a room here for the last night of our 6 year anniversary trip. It was nothing like what my husband expected, as he has never stayed in a bed and breakfast before, and it was much, much better then any bed and breakfast I had stayed in in the past. We were greeted with a hug, and I can honestly say that Ruth and Bryan made us feel like family. We came as strangers, but by the time we left I felt like we had known them for years! The bedrooms are each wonderful. We stayed in the Cherry Room. There are two bathrooms and four bedrooms, so every two rooms shares a bathroom. We did not have anyone in the room across from us so we got the bathroom to ourselves, however, there were two other families there. They even had a room that had a combined nursery you can also book for if you have an infant or small child. They have a wonderful home, and beautiful piece of property. They have a swing and a little play area for kids. They have hammocks, and a fire pit, and a huge porch for just sitting. If you wanna be outside, but still indoors they have a lovely enclosed porch too, and that is where we ate breakfast. Breakfast consisted of fresh fruits, sauasges, scrambled eggs and pancakes. Fresh juices, coffee, tea, milk. The food was wonderful, and they even make foods for certain types of food allergies. We had a wonderful time here, and I do believe that we will go back next time we are in the area. It truly was a gem in our trip we wont forget!

Bryan and Ruth have a beautiful, well cared for home. The view from the wrap around porch is just breath-taking in the evening, and also a great spot for your morning coffee. We stayed for 2 days and they were so helpful with suggestions for activities in the area. We visited Gambier and the Kenyon College campus, the Mohican State Park area for hiking, and downtown Loudonville. We took their recommendation for dinner at the Malabar Farm restaurant which did not disappoint. The homemade breakfast provided each morning was wonderful! I would definitely stay again and recommend to friends and family visiting the area!

This is everything an AirBnb should be. The house is clean and wonderfully decorated, and the property is beautiful. Bryan and Ruth are wonderful hosts. I arrived in the rain to find Bryan waiting with an umbrella for me, and Ruth had warm chocolate chip cookies every night. I enjoyed getting to know them and the other guests.

Luftberg is a beautiful place to stay. There's plenty to see on the property, beautiful gardens, walks through the woods and chickens. But they are also close to many attractions that Ohio has to offer. We chose to tour Malabar Farm on this visit and went to the Ohio bird sanctuary last time. Thank you Brian and Ruth for your hospitality and also for cutting some fresh rhubarb for us to take home.

We made a last minute request and Ruth and Bryan accommodate us. The house was fabulous and the breakfast was delicious (eggs, fresh baked cake, fresh fruits, coffee, home made juice). Bryan and Ruth are great travelers and shared their travel experiences with us and gave us travel ideas. Also, they gave us a detailed map of the sight seeing places around. We had a wonderful stay.

Bryan and Ruth are kind and generous hosts. They were very flexible when I asked if my wife and I could check-in a couple of hours early. They suggested places to eat and different events and activities to attend while we were in town for the 4th of July. Bryan and Ruth's home is very clean and inviting, and their property is beautiful and well-maintained. Each morning's homemade breakfast was delicious, and the conversation that accompanied it was pleasant and refreshing. I would highly recommend a weekend getaway at Bryan and Ruth's place! Thank you and God bless you, Bryan and Ruth.

Profilo utente di Bryan & RuthBryan & Ruth è un Superhost.

We planned and built a large modern country farmhouse in 2004, with the intent to share it as a B&B during retirement years. Bryan is a retired teacher, having taught high school biology and anatomy for 38 years. Ruth is a retired registered nurse. We have lived on our 38 acres since 1974, raising kids, livestock and flower and vegetable gardens. We enjoy traveling the world as well as hiking in God's beautiful outdoors in our own woods and fields. Winter finds us reading before the warm fireplace, crafting in the woodshop and quilting in the sewing room.
