Enjoy this house overlooking Dartmoor in medieval Totnes. The River Dart is a short walk & Dartmoor/Devon beaches are a short drive or strong cycle ride away. Foodie, eco, nature and Transition paradise.
We offer a 3 bed house (2 Queen beds plus single bed on 3/4 height platform) with 2 spare single beds in common spaces: a huge comfy L-shaped couch in the lounge as well as a single bed on the 3 season solarium/ second large living room. Two doubles (one in the attic- access difficult to attic room for those with mobility issues. ) & a bed can be made up in the lounge or the other two bedrooms.
The whole house is quirky and like a work of art by it's artist owner. We are told it is like walking into one of her paintings. It is full of interesting nooks and crannies and exotic collections of objects carefully arranged. The house if full of color and has masses of character with original paintings, etchings, sculpture and watercolour. There is a Turkish style lounge with a cozy woodburner and there is even a Yamaha piano if you fancy. And the house is so full of things to discover that you could stay here all week and still be discovering inspiring things at the end of your stay.
The trampoline is always a joy for kids of all ages in the garden. We are an eco-friendly home with a huge garden packed with a 40 fruit trees. We have recently added a 3 season porch / outdoor living space, an outdoor kitchen and 2 extra compost loos. Our garden also features a unique Transition Town Totnes skillshare built rammed earth/ cobb / stone retaining wall built with over 1000 man hours by 65 different people.
You can have exclusive use of the house.
Guests will have access to all rooms aside from the office and single room at the front of the house
