The Hungry Trout is a regionally renowned seafood restaurant; specialising in locally caught fish from around Cardigan Bay.
Situated in Ceredigion, West Wales UK, on the much-celebrated Cardigan Bay coastline
between Aberystwyth and Cardigan, New Quay is a charismatic mix of inspiring landscapes, sandy beaches and local-community.
Preserving it’s Victorian character and ambiance, New Quay is the ideal location for those who savour the delights of the great outdoors.
With numerous sailing, fishing, boat and hiking opportunities – as well as a variety of local pubs, shops and attractions – there is something to interest people of all ages.
New Quay has a rich history. The town is famed for it’s distinguished dramatist and poet, Dylan Thomas, who once resided in the town in 1944. Many consider New Quay to be the ‘cliff-perched town at the far end of Wales’, immortalised by Dylan Thomas, in ‘Under Milk Wood’. The Dylan Thomas Trail takes visitors around many of the places frequented by Thomas.
New Quay is also renowned for it’s seasonal dolphin and marine wildlife population – Cardigan Bay being one of two most significant locations off the British coast for Bottlenose Dolphins. Frequent
boat trips take visitors on dolphin-watching cruises around the bay.
Just two hours by car from Cardiff and Birmingham, and 4 hours from London, the town is easily accessible, yet ‘out-of-the-way’ – ideal for those looking to getaway from it all, for a long-weekend or more.
