The cottage is in an ideal area for cycling and walking; the Kennet and Avon Canal is within walking distance, as well as a range of country pubs offering home-cooked food. Historic market town Marlborough is a ten minute drive away offering a twice weekly market, boutique shops and a wide selection of cafes, restaurants and pubs. The large village of Pewsey also offers shops, pubs and cafes.

The ancient World Heritage site of Avebury, the largest stone circle in Europe, is just a ten minute drive away with Stonehenge just a 30 minute drive away. The beautiful city of Bath is also just an hour's drive away.

The mainline station of Pewsey is only five minutes away by car, one hour by train from London Paddington and on the mainline to Exeter, Plymouth and Penzance. Regular bus service from outside the house to Pewsey, Marlborough, Swindon and Salisbury.

The cottage is ideal for a couple or solo traveller as it has one main double bedroom. The cottage does have a single bed in an adjacent room but please note you walk through one room to get to the other.

Two night minimum stay.

Own garden and parking.

The cottage is absolutely charming with beautifully shaped traditional ceilings in the bedrooms, I particularly liked that there was a door to the garden directly from the living room so it is possible to have it open and have lots of light and sunshine inside and out. Francis was kind and accommodating and did his best to help us. The area is beautiful - I love the Pewsey Downs.

The break we had at Francis cottage was just what we needed. The location was nicely located about a 10 minute drive to Marlborough a beautiful market town with lots of nice shops yet far enough away to be extremely peaceful at night. The cottage had bags of character and was nice and quaint. The log fire was nice in the evenings after days walking the dogs in the vast surrounding countryside. Bed was super comfy and had two great nights sleep! We had a lovely time! Thank you Francis

We had a lovely stay in Francis' cottage for a couple of nights- we only wished it could have been for longer. Very handy setting for exploring Marlborough and the surrounding countryside. The cottage was very well-appointed and lacked nothing. Francis was a very welcoming host and even had the log fire going for our arrival- very much appreciated!

Francis was a great host, and happy to answer any question before and once having arrived. The cottage is lovely, well kept and set in beautiful surroundings. I'd definitely recommend if you are looking for a quiet, remote location in the countryside.

Francis ‘cottage was perfect to unwind and chill for a few days just after Christmas. The quaint & cosy cottage had everything we had wished for minus perhaps the perceptible traffic noise from the adjacent road. Still we had a lovely stay and totally enjoyed the amazing open fire! Francis was easy to communicate with and a great host. We really appreciated his never ending supply of firewood.
