Extremely spacious luxury 2 bed/2 bath apartment, set in a gated complex with swimming pools, tennis courts and playgrounds, overlooking the 8th green of the Isla Canela Golf Course – 5 minutes to beach, marina and bars.
Isla Canela is located on the beautiful and unspoilt Costa de la Luz (The Coast of Light) in south-west Spain near the border with Portugal, an area known as the Spanish Algarve. Renowned for its traditional charm and hospitality, whilst remaining free from mass tourism, with the typically Andalucian town of Ayamonte nearby, it is the ideal place to discover the real Spain, whilst enjoying a relaxing holiday suitable for all the family.
With 4 miles (7K) of sandy beaches, a marina with water sports, an 18 hole golf course, a mixture of modern and traditional shops bars and restaurants, Isla Canela must be experienced to believe. It also boasts a climate that has an average yearly temperature of 18c and over 3,000 hours of sunshine throughout the year.
Situated on the first floor, the views of the golf course are spectacular, especially early morning and late in the evening, enjoying a nice glass of wine on the balcony!
The main bedroom has a large bed with full en-suite bathroom and fitted wardrobes, with the bedroom opening out onto a terrace. The second bedroom has 2 single beds with fitted wardrobes which also opens out onto a terrace. The second bathroom beside the single room houses a powerful shower and toilet facilities.
Mosquito nets have been installed in all rooms making the apartment the perfect get away at any time of the year.
The large kitchen is fully fitted with oven and ceramic hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee machine, and all necessary kitchen utensils. There is a table counter & 2 stools. There is a washing machine, ironing facility, and extra storage capacity in the utility room.
Spacious Lounge/Dining room consists of large dining table and 6 chairs, TV/Satellite, DVD/CD player, 1 sofas, which is a good quality sofa bed. The lounge leads out onto a large private terrace overlooking the 8th green of the Isla Canela golf course, with patio loungers, table and 6 chairs.
The complex is complete with its own 28 meter swimming pool, children’s playground and pool, which overlooks the 2 tennis courts and basket ball court. There are toilets/changing facilities and showers at the poolside, which in season has a lifeguard.
The apartment is within walking distance of the Isla Canela Golf Clubhouse with bar and restaurant which offer great food and drink, and fabulous views of the golf course!
It has its own bowling greens and driving range. There is also a 5 star hotel on the Golf complex with pool, bar, restaurant, gym and Internet access available. A Water Park and Karting circuit are only a short drive away in Cartaya.
Golf: There are 8 high quality golf courses within 30 minutes drive of Isla Canela. Compared to the western Algarve and the Costa del Sol, Costa de la Luz – Huelva and the Eastern Algarve are as yet ‘undiscovered’. Green fees are lower as the courses are less crowded and less busy making it much easier to get a start time that you want and to be able to get round in reasonable time without delays.
The course at Isla Canela is set on the edge of the ‘marismas’, the salt-water marshes that form much of the terrain of Isla Canela and which have the benefit of protected status as natural parks. Like the ‘marismas’, the course at Isla Canela is flat and open and makes for easy walking – but do not take it lightly! When he designed the course in 1993, Juan Catarineü incorporated the ponds and gullies that serve as the drainage system of the ‘marismas’ to provide natural hazards that always seem to be just where you don’t want them. The Isla Canela course is not particularly long but it rewards straight play as any shots off-line are penalised by the array of eucalyptus and palms that characterise the scenery. Water comes into play on no fewer than 10 holes.

We prefer you to stay with us for a week rather than a short stay. We provide as much information as our guests need and we can send much more information about Ayamonte and our apartment by email if requested. All guests will have access to a wide variety of home comforts that we enjoy many times a year when we visit. However, during your stay we will not be on hand, but are a phone call away.

Isla Canela is served by two airports, all used by low-cost airlines.
Option 1: Fly into Faro, rent a car and drive approx 50 minutes to the Spanish border – Ayamonte is the first exit off the motorway once you cross the bridge. From there it is about 10 minutes to Isla Canella.
Option 2: Fly into Seville, rent a car and head on the motorway towards Huelva and Ayamonte – this takes approx 1.5 hours
Owner’s Tip: book 330 days in advance with Aer Lingus for extremely good flight deals.
Car Rental: There are plenty of car hire companies available at Faro or Seville airport. But it is advisable to book the car hire before you go, to avail of better rates.

We expect you to treat this as a home from home. Please handle our goods with care like you would in your own house. Please do not smoke inside the apartment, and pets are not allowed. Please do not be noisy after 12am on the balcony as this will disturb the neighbours. Please do not hang your towels or clothes out over the balcony there is a drying rack provided for this. My wife, Ann, and I bought this apartment 10 years ago and have been visiting at least 3 times a year ever since. We've brought our children, friends and family to the apartment and have loved every minute of it. Now we are opening it up to let others enjoy it too.
