Welcome to my apartment in Lonyai Street !
A place with "fen-shui", downtown Budapest.
My flat is so marvellously located almost at the river Danube Pest bank of Budapest, in the heart of downtown, in the IXth district. The area is full of interesting places, museums, universities, libraries, churches, galleries and is just few steps from one of the most picturesque streets of Budapest downtown: the Raday street. This is a beautiful colourful street for walking and passing by, no cars allowed during the evening and late afternoon. The street is full of cosy and inexpensive Hungarian and universal restaurants, bars and pubs, each with its own style, full of life and entertainment, leisure and with a unique Budapest flair! Also hotels and dancing discotheques are at hand along and around this street, banks and change bureaus for changing currency are very near.
The great advantage of my place is also the peaceful and quite secure outdoor and indoor house environment of my street, the Lónyay street, parallel to the above mentioned Ráday street. Shopping is also easy, there is a supermarket on the corner, and, above all, with a little market open all day long until 10 pm, around my corner, at Bakáts street.
Relax in all senses, and an elegant, calm environment are available, within the flat and immediately outside, also with very good access to the thermal baths in the town, taking the subway at Kalvin Tér, three or four blocks from my flat, and combining properly from there, within 30 to 40 minutes you can reach one of the many thermal wonders of Budapest: Gellért bath or Szécsenyi Bath or the marvellous Margit Island with its baths, immense parks and beaches.
Close to the street you will find the Great Market Hall, which is a huge indoor market in Budapest, filled with real Hungarian specialities (food products, craft products, souvenirs).
If you pass Petofi Bridge, do not forget to visit A38 boat, which was selected as the best bar on the World (by Lonely Planet).
The Museum of Applied Arts and the Hungarian National Museum are also in this area.
