I am a 32 year old female. I work as a therapist at a mental health clinic in Bushwick.
The place is within short walking distance to Prospect Park (I run and walk my dog there frequently) and within short walking distance to the cute commercial strip on Cortelyou Road with great restaurants, bakeries and my favorite bar, Sycamore. On Church Ave, there are several great cheap stores for produce and other essentials. Brooklyn College is about a mile south of the apartment. Union Square is about 25 minutes on Q train subway.
Rent amount includes wifi and utilities--no additional charges. Radiator heat. Sheets and towels are also available for use. You are welcome to use the kitchenware and stock kitchen food items like oils and spices, etc.
I work long hours so will be coming and going. When I am around, I am friendly and open to conversation and sharing food or a drink at home.
5 minute walk to the Church Ave Q train
You can come and go as you please.
Try to keep noise down between 12am-6am.
I love a clean kitchen and bathroom, so please do dishes as you go and keep spaces tidy.
You are welcome to use my kitchenware, including dishes, blender, etc. Anything you find on top of the fridge--oils, vinegars, spices, etc.--you may use in reasonable quantities. Other than staple cooking items, you will be responsible for purchasing and preparing your own food.
I am flexible and accommodating, if you have concerns or questions, please just let me know; we will try to work things out.
Jeni was a wonderful host. The room was spacious and fit four of my family members. My mom and sister were very happy that there was a shared kitchen they could use for breakfast. Jeni was kind enough for letting us to use some of her kitchen stuff and spices. I was hoping to see Owen, the dog, but Jeni had to leave out of town the next morning. I would definitely come again when we visit NY. We had a pleasure staying at Jeni's place.
Staying with Jeni was just what I was hoping for. The room is spacious, clean, and as sunny as advertised. I woke up with the sun each morning, which was positively delightful. Her little Beagle is the cutest thing ever too! The pictures are what you really get, and Jeni was supportive and flexible. I'd definitely come back.
Great in NYC, Jeni's apartment was clean and nice, safe neighborhood, and only 5 minutes from the subway. She was very friendly, I would definitely recommend her place !
Had a great time in Jeni's place :) room was clean, bathroom was clean everything's clean, I recommend it.
Jeni is a gem! I was a longterm roommate with Jeni and I had a wonderful experience. She is incredible neat and tidy (which made me more tidy! Thanks Jeni! :) ) and is in general just a wonderful person. Owen, her puppy, is the sweetest and one of the most well behaved and easy going dogs I have ever met. The room itself is quite lovely. Very airy and light with high ceilings. It was very comfortable. The area was nice with very cheap and delicious fruit and vegetable markets. There are also some very cute and delicious spots (Highly recommend Qathra) on Cortelyou. The subway is quite close and is a direct and easy route into manhattan and other areas. The area represented another more down-to-earth type of new york that is essential to experiencing the city but is often left out when staying in a large hotel. Overall I could not recommend this place enough and when I come to back to New York for visits will be seeing if this place is available first.
This was a great first AirBnB experience for us! The location made it super easy for us to explore Brooklyn, while still being just a half-hour away from Manhattan via metro. The room is just as advertised, very spacious and full of light. Last but certainly not least, Jeni was wonderful. She was a gracious and respectful host and had so many great recommendations for the city. She also had a fantastic attitude and her dog, Owen, was a sweetheart with the floppiest of ears.
Jeni was a fantastic host. Very warm and accomidating. The apartment was clean and easy enough to get to. It's also easy to hop on a bus downtown to access many shops and eateries. Her dog was quite friendly too. She is highly recommended.
