Cayley and Alex were fine guests and I will address their concerns...Firstly, if guests would read listings, in full, instead of booking based mostly on photos, most guests would see that most of what Cayley states is detailed in in our listings. If a guest enters the correct# of guests, including oneself, the Airbnb app will tabulate the appropriate price for booking any listing. It is not at all unusual to charge extra for an additional guest including, I have seen up to $30 being charged for additional guests on Airbnb. Our faucet water is very drinkable and we do have filtered water in the kitchen that guests are welcome to drink and Cayley would have known that if, she had asked me. It is correct, we do not offer our indoor or outdoor kitchens for cooking to overnight Airbnb guests and that is mentioned in our listings more than once. We do offer coffee, tea, hot chocolate in the morning. We are pretty easy going and if a guest has a special need such as needing to heat a bottle for a baby or heating up some cereal or simple things like that, we are pretty flexible and will allow it if asked or brought to our attention. We mention in our listings that we are happy to recommend plenty of good restaurants 10 min. away in either Ojai or Ventura and if wanting to go a bit further, Santa Barbara. I do apologize if there was a used bar of soap, left by the previous guest, in the shower. It was probably missed by the cleaning person. However, it is very difficult to miss the big bottles of shampoo and conditioner along with the big bottle of body wash (not sure why Cayley didn't use) we provide for the shower since, we too, don't think soap bars are very hygienic. Cayley mentions a guide book of the area would have been nice to have been provided...well, there is one provided to every booked guest in their itinerary from Airbnb. In fact, we list 18 places in our guidebook. I will also address additional feed back from Cayley not mentioned above. She mentioned, "check in was not very flexible. Felt stuck to a particular time." I don't know why she felt that way, we state in our listings that check in is from 3pm-10pm (quite a bit of flexibility there). However, since as we also mention in our listings, we do have a working ranchette and many responsibilities and chores that go along with this lifestyle and taking care of all our animals, it is very helpful to us to have an idea around what time a guest be checking in and to keep us informed if the check in time will be changed by much. This way we can figure our work schedule, here, and also be available when a guest first checks in. I don't think this is unreasonable since we make every attempt to make ourselves available for the guest's check in schedule between 3 and 10pm. We've even arranged for later arrivals when needed! Cayley also felt our cleaning fee was too high for room and bath. However, again, as we mention in our listings, we own 12 acres. There is a lot of maintenance that goes along with that. Guests are able to wander pretty much where ever they like outdoors and use the pool as well. There is a price for keeping things nice and reasonably well maintained in a property this large. It is not a house on an average California small lot or, an apartment, condo, etc. Hope this covers everything and keeps it all transparent, thank you.
