Damien was very helpful, and provided us with detailed instructions on how to find the apartment. Our journey took a little longer than expected, so he contacted us to let us know where to pick up the key and parking pass from.
The apartment itself was great - two smaller studio apartments that have been made into one larger one and then significantly upgraded. The photos are accurate, and all the rooms are lovely (although the bathroom appears to have been left in its original state - which is fine, but a pity given the love that has been given to the rest of the place). The quality of the decor and furniture is better than anything I have seen in similar apartments.
There were no significant issues, but a few things to be aware of:
1. Unfortunately there is no real view from the apartment, as it is blocked by trees. Nothing that Damien can do about this, but it's a pity given the beautiful scenery of the Alps.
2. If you wish to hire bed linen, it is necessary to go via a company called Alpissime, whose web-site is French-only and not very user-friendly. We took our sheets and towels with us, but upon arrival we realised that we needed a double rather than a single for one of the beds, and the local Alpissime shop was less than helpful, telling us that we should have booked in advance.
3. There is only one door key, which means you need to co-ordinate your group's comings and goings.
4. The block itself is a little shabby, but other than going up and down in the lift, there's no need to spend any time in the common areas. It is only a couple of hundred yards from the slopes - although it is necessary to climb up 2-3 flights of stairs. It was very quiet while we were there, but since most of the rest of the apartments are of a lower standard, expect quite a few younger residents who may well want to party on until dawn.
But those really were very minor issues. We cannot praise Damien's apartment highly enough - we had a great time in Les Arcs, and would definitely come back again.
