Why stay in a Hotel Room? Stay at the City Centre Suites and enjoy a beautifully furnished Living Room, newly remodeled upscale Kitchen, an extraordinary full Bathroom, a very private Bedroom and Outdoor living spaces with comfortable furniture. Be at Home, not stuck in a hotel room and enjoy your stay in beautiful Charleston.

Mod Suite - original Mid-Century Modern furniture with industrial touches featuring clean lines and contemporary accents. Complete kitchen and bath renovation. Queen size bed against an original 1813 brick wall. Plush memory foam mattress. All City Centre baths have double vanity sinks with modern designs. Very comfortable interior along with glass table and chairs for outdoor dining. Piazza overlooks fountain and lots of trees for privacy.

The City Centre is smoke free inside or anywhere on our property. Smoking allowed off-property only. Pets are not allowed. Minimum stay is for two nights.

All Suites have Smart TVs and high speed internet servcies provided by AT&T.

One of the greatest features of the City Centre is that you can park your car and walk to just about everywhere. Located in Historic Ansonborough, the City Centre is conveniently located within walking distance to all the main attractions:

100 yards to the Gaillard Performance Hall
1 1/2 blocks to Marion Square Park and Farmers Market on Saturday morning
1/2 block to Meeting Street
1 1/2 blocks to King Street
4 blocks to the Antique District
2 blocks to the largest Supermarket in Downtown Charleston, Harris Teeter
4 blocks to the the Maritime Center
5 blocks to the City Market

Walking is the favorite mode of transportation from the City Centre and Pedicabs can pick you up at your Suite door if you wish.

The City Centre is smoke-free - off property smoking only. No pets allowed on our property or in our Suites. No Parties. Small gathering of paid Guests and unpaid guests (max. 3 per Suite) between hours of 9AM and 11PM allowed. No unpaid guests allowed to stay overnight. No entertainment/services allowed without permission. Please be considerate of other Guests, owners and neighbors when using outside areas. City Noise Ordinance in effect after 11PM. Illegal activity on the property will be dealt with by the Charleston City polict Dept and will bring immediate eviction. Alcohol is allowed on premise. Improper or abusive behavior is not. Owner's reserve the right to inspect City Centre Suites. On-site Parking is provided to City Centre Guests only (if needed) - 1 Guest car per Suite. No Guest of Guest on-site parking is allowed.

City Centre Suites are not safe nor suitable for children and infants.

Rick and Glenda are fantastic hosts. Anything we needed was provided and done so quickly. They respect your privacy but are great to talk to about the city, dining, and attractions, as well. We stayed in the Mod suite and it was perfect. You will have all of the amenities you need. It is extremely comfortable, well maintained, and has a great patio! The location is close to all downtown attractions, but secluded and quiet. I highly recommend staying here. It will be our first option when we return.

We loved the beautiful residential location. Very close to everything including historical sites, restaurants, shopping etc. Lovely, upscale amenities. Highly recommend for couples getaway or business travelers.

Communication was very good. The mod suite was as described. We had one small issue, which, when brought to rick and Glenda's attention, was taken care of immediately. They were helpful and generous with recommendations on sights and restaurants.

We always try to be responsive right away if anything big or small escapes our notice and they were very understandable that a small margin of error is expected-important is how it is handled. Great location, very charming. The wifi was spotty at times. The entire unit was quite damp (partially due to weather, but we couldn't control the AC or open windows). They also listed a parking spot per unit as an amenity, however when we wanted to use it for one day for a car we were borrowing we were not allowed to park it there. Not a huge deal, but a little disappointing considering how challenging parking is in Charleston.

We always find it super disappointing that guests who have not told us of their perceived problems do not speak with us when here. Many could be fixed or explained and assistance offered freely. Some are unreal expectations or problems caused by renters themselves because of not understanding something about Charleston or the suite. We give you FAQs, check in documents with information, notes in the suite and make ourselves available to help with all of this. We give you 4 or 5 ways to contact us and also spoke to you in the yard and you mentioned nothing. 1)WiFi-we could have improved connections if had known problems existed. Also we have no control over some connectivity issues as your devices, internet provider, etc. are often out of our control. If you need perfect connectivity, a large hotel with business center provides better than a 200 year old home retrofitted with residential connections. We offer the best available. We all wish for great connectivity and it seems yours needed some tweaking which we could have provided. 2)Dampness-You have complete control over the HVAC system which is new and works quite well. I noticed you closed all 11 room darkening shades 24/7 creating a very dark cavelike environment. I did send you a note midweek explaining this. We are a subtropical climate and had record breaking temperatures and humidity while you were here. Running the HVAC and opening shades would have eliminated any dankness. Also I removed wet towels from the suite that were smelling in the laundry basket. If you had asked, we could have removed them every day or two. I did email you and let you know I was picking them up midweek. Hanging towels to dry helps eliminate dampness. There are multiple places to hang them to dry in the bathroom. That is also a bath fan that is vented to the outside to remove shower humidity and dry the beautiful spalike bathroom. 3)Windows- it is usual in hotels and historic houses to have windows that don't open. That is why we provide Central HVAC. There are many reasons opening windows in such accommodations is not a good thing. It is an unreal expectation when proper HVAC is provided. The porch provides a place to sit outside and enjoy our weather while keeping the inside climate controlled. 4)Parking Policy. In all our literature, it states that parking is for guest's car only. It is not for vehicles of guest's guest. It is clearly explained in 3 different documents you received. There are multiple problems with having cars of strangers on our property and we do not provide parking to the public. You yourself pointed out the parking problem in downtown. If you had asked me for an explanation of the public parking signs(evidently they were unclear) we would have told you that you do not need a residential parking permit. Parking is free for 1hr.as I told you. There are inexpensive meters just a few feet away as well. Our parking is for our home but we allow guests to parking in one space if they have a car legally registered or rented to them. Also you can have guest drive in the driveway, pick you up or unload and then drive out again. I highly recommend that you always speak with the owners directly when you have questions or dissatisfactions with the accomodation. We put a lot of pride and hard work into our accommodations and will help when ever possible with anything-including hints for parking around town and how to keep dampness at bay. Host really appreciate this rather than surprising us with negative postings to the public which are misleading and state untrue information. I only hope the facts are clarified by my response.
