You are welcome to our house, treat it like it is yours! We just ask you to follow these few basic rules: No smoking inside the house, yes even in the bathroom! And please do the dishes before leaving, take the garbage out. Thank you!
The host Conscience was helpful and vigilant. He ensured the door was locked everynight and that visitors who visted had arrangements with guest ahead of time.
Depending on your roommates, the AC may be on lower than one is used ro, so just make sure you bring an extra blanket.
The room has a great size bed but not much room for moving around or relaxing. However the living room is great for these things so, it all worked out.
One thing i wished is that Conscience could have met me at the house when I arrived. While he had some one let me in, it would have been good to meet him. However, I do understand that things come up.
Overall great roommates all professionals, kept to themselves, and polite.
I would recommend this place to anyone working in the city. 45min ride to the city if you take the the WTC to the E.
Thank you, Judith&Nansha Kalonji. You
have a wonderful home and set up. I am glad I had a chance to stay in it.
My experience this time is kind of mixed, though my stay overall was smooth and fun.
I found it hard to communicate with Judith and Nansha, who stay in France and a care taker attains to local needs. This includes my not-so-warm welcome. The care taker was not informed of my reservation and he had to call them upon my arrival. I didn't have to contact anyone for most of my stay there, but whenever I needed, I couldn't that easily.
The room was clean apparently, though I found lot of garbage (broken hangers, cigarette packet etc.) pushed under the bed.
Despite these issues, I enjoyed my stay there. Conscience, the care taker was quite amicable and friendly.
There's a few pros and cons about this listing. Lets start off by saying they're great hosts, extremely welcoming and helpful on tips. The house was very clean, it made me feel comfortable knowing everything was well kept and the home was organized with little to nothing obstructing the common areas. The kitchen is big, and the room is spacious, the bathroom is also very nice. Now the neighborhood itself is alright not the greatest, but definitely there are plenty of options and ways to get around to NYC right up the street. A few cons are definitely the roommate they had staying, she wasn't to pleasant to deal with and did put a complain about our noise when I'm on vacation. (Yes people usually make noise and are up late when you promote the city that never sleeps, NYC.) The house rules are a little to in depth especially with the common areas of the home. Some things should be complementary (I.e. Dish soap, Bathroom Soap, if you're staying a week or more washed towels, if not then some detergent.) I also didn't like the fact that they changed the pictures of the room on us. Other than this i want to thank them for a wonderful experience and being our AIRBNB firsts through our profile. We want to encourage anyone to book this listing, its very economical and easy to get around to the big apple. Enjoy!
This was my first airbnb experience ever, and it made me even more excited about airbnb. I haven't met Judith or Nansha, who hosted me was Etienne. I had pleasant stay and i recommend the room to everyone
Etienne is an incredible guy, responsible, easy going, friendly and attended me every time i needed. He even gave me a lot of tips to make my stay more enjoyable. Basically Etienne is the man!
The house is very nice, the other guests were very nice too. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the closet has enough space to fit everything, all the kitchen appliances works, the heat and hot water always works.
The location is nice. It is very easy to get to NYC, it is near the hudson mall (15 min walk) and you will find some Delis(5 min walk) at west side avenue were you can buy groceries. The house is also near the Light Rail and bus stops that will take you to the path station .
I was happy with the place and would stay again. Judith wasn't there, but put me in touch with a friend that sent instructions on how to get there from the airport. The neighborhood was safe. It's quite a ways from Manhattan, however.
The reservation was canceled 21 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
My partner and I stayed at Judith's place for 8 nights. Although we didn't meet Judith we had the pleasure of meeting Etienne. He was so welcoming and made us feel at home right away. When we were settled he even walked us down to the main shopping area to show us where everything was. Our room was on the top floor of of the three story townhouse in a quiet street. The place was clean and tidy and had everything that we required for cooking and eating. We had no problems finding our way in to Manhattan every day using the public transport system. Most nights we weren't home before 10pm and we always felt safe coming home late in the evening. I would highly recommend Judith's place to any travellers just keep in mind it is an hour each way using public transport to Manhattan and it's using the New Jersey transit and New York transit so you have to buy 2 separate tickets. But overall it was nice to come home every day and escape the hustle and bustle of NYC. Thanks for having us!
