This apartment is a spacious 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom unit in a very modern, new building 3 blocks from the Columbia Heights Metro Station. Very comfortable queen size tempurpedic mattress on bed and an air mattress available for extra guests.

10 foot ceilings, floor to ceiling windows, a very large balcony with two chairs and a view of a very quiet and peaceful courtyard with a fountain. From the serenity of the apartment you would never know you were in the center of Washington's densest neighborhood with bustling sidewalks, trendy restaurants, abundant night life, and easy transportation access.

Guests will have access to the entire apartment as well as a digital key card for access to the gym, the business center, the courtyard and the outdoor gas grills. You can also pay an additional fee for access to below ground parking.

I will usually leave the key for you with the building concierge. You can call me or my co-host if you have any problems. I am native Washingtonian and am happy to provide any travel or tourism related advice you may need.

I love the density and diversity of Columbia Heights. It is truly the most diverse neighborhood in the city in terms of age, race, politics and style. You will find no other neighborhood in DC with more activity 24 hours a day.

Washington, D.C.'s underground rail system, the Metro, is located 3 blocks, or approximately 5 minutes walk, from the apartment. The station is on the Yellow and Green lines of the system, with especially easy access to the Convention Center, Smithsonian, National Mall, National Airport and College Park. Columbia Heights is a very pedestrian friendly neighborhood and has numerous "Capital Bikeshare" bike sharing/rental stations that can be taken and dropped off at stations all throughout D.C. and nearby Maryland and Virginia. There is a grocery store as well as a Target with groceries within 5 minutes walk of the apartment along with numerous restaurants and bars. The especially hot 14th Street/U Street Corridor is only 20 minutes away by foot.

The TV does not get cable and only gets the NBC and Fox stations. There is a VGA cable that you can use to connect your computer to the television. The wifi available is the free public wifi in the building, which is slow. The building's very nice business center can be used if you need faster internet connection.

The bed is a tempurpedic mattress that fits two adults. There is also a q sized air mattress that also fits two adults.

Guests will have access to the entire apartment as well as a digital key card for access to the gym, the business center, the courtyard, pilates/yoga studio and the outdoor grilling area. The cost for underground secure parking is $15 per night.

Alex was really communicative and helpful; he was quick to answer texts and was always ready to answer questions. His schedule was flexible which meant that check-in and check-out were flexible, as well. The internet in his apartment has some issues, and it's hard to get cell service inside the building, but there is a lovely cafe next door where the signal is much stronger. The apartment is lovely, with a nice patio that overlooks a peaceful fountain. Alex made sure the apartment was clean before we got there, and the sheets and towels (if a little old) had clearly been recently washed. The Columbia Heights district is a really cool area and really convenient to much of the city. I'd highly recommend this place!

Alex's space was pretty much as listed. It's in a new building in an easy to access neighborhood. The location was great for us. My boyfriend and I actually live in D.C. but we had a house fire which left us air B&B and hotel hopping for a few weeks until we were able to move into more permanent housing, the location suited both of our needs as we just needed a space fairly close to where we had lived before and to where we were moving so that we could make the transition easier. Alex made sure to get the space clean before he agreed to accommodate us. The only compliant I have is that he didn't leave key fobs to the building so we weren't able to get into the building unless someone let us in and/or someone was walking in the building at the same time. This was a little frustrating as both my boyfriend and I leave and come home from work at different times and had to coordinate with each other and the front desk to be sure there was a key to get into the apartment. This wouldn't have been too big of a deal except for the fact that the building doesn't permit Air B&B, which we didn't know until after we got there, and so we were on edge each time we came and left knowing that the front desk folks suspected us (they even asked us at one point if we were air b&b guests). If Alex had provided an extra key to the unit and keys to the building I don't think this would have been an issue and the stay would have been much more pleasant. Another perk is that there is a washer and dryer in the unit. We really appreciated this, our clothes were super smokey smelling due tot he fire and so being able to clean a few loads was a huge plus.

Apartment is nice and in a great location. Alex was easy to communicate with and very friendly. Arrival process was awkward because even though I arrived 6 hours after check-in time, the apartment was a MESS, with piles of dirty dishes in the sink, clothes strewn about, the bed unmade, etc. I ended up hanging out at a nearby spot for 1.5 hours while Alex cleaned. By that point it was 7:30 PM and I very much just wanted to be settled in as I'd been hoping to fix myself some dinner and have an early evening.

Alex was an excellent host. Communication prior to check-in was quick and efficient. At check-in, he provided useful information about the neighborhood and city. The apartment is pleasant, as are the building amenities and location.

Alex was very nice and understanding. I booked last minute and showed up without him confirming and he still welcomed me. The listing was spectacular. I only stayed for one night but it made my trip exponentially better. I'd go back anytime. Thanks Alex!

Alex stopped by the first evening to explain where useful items were in the apartment and to welcome us. The apartment is a nice one bedroom unit with a good sized kitchen with lots of counter space and is as close as one can get to the building entrance. This unit is in a great location in Columbia Heights and is only two blocks from a large grocery store and three blocks from the Metro, a major bus stop and a Target. Reagan National is 10 Metro stops away on the yellow line. Many good restaurants and stores in the neighborhood. The Keurig coffee maker was very nice, and the washer and dryer in the unit were useful. The apartment building has controlled access with 24 hour staffing which is a nice safety feature and there is a good exercise facility in the lower level.

This place was gorgeous and in a great location. Only about two blocks to the Columbia Heights metro. Also had covered parking which was helpful. The concierge and staff were extremely friendly as well. The place itself was organized however it was not clean. When we arrived, the floors had dirt all over and dust everywhere. The bathroom was not clean including the shower. The kitchen counter-tops were not clean and the couches needed to be vacuumed. We addressed this issue with Alex and he did agree to clean the place the next day. Alex was very nice and the place would have been perfect if it had just been clean.
