The jewel in Devon's crown, the South Hams of Devon is a scenic region to explore. An area of 'Outstanding Natural Beauty' that encompasses picturesque estuaries and a stunning coastline with miles of unspoilt beaches and hidden coves to a lush hinterland that extends to the wild untamed heathland of Dartmoor, there is variety for all. From the richly wooded Dart Valley and the historic deepwater port of Dartmouth all the way to Bigbury Bay and Burgh Island, you can discover the charm of charismatic coastal villages and towns.

Car is a must. Many beautiful walks from the house .

Beautiful beaches at Salcombe, Wonwell, Soar Mill, Bantham, Thurlestone, Bigbury, Slapton Sands (all within half an hour's drive). Stunning stretches of coastal walks to explore. For the more sedentary, many fantastic country pubs to relax with good food and drink. Seafood restaurants, for example 'The Oyster Shack' nr Aveton Gifford, or 'The Winking Prawn' at North Sands, Salcombe. The South Devon Chilli farm is 4 minutes drive away. The Avon Mill Garden Centre in Loddiswell is renowned for it's good food and lovely setting. Dartmouth is only 40 minutes from us, likewise Totnes. Kingsbridge is our local town - just 5 miles away, with quaint local shops and great cafes and restaurants available, to meet all your needs.

For the sporting, there is a fishing lake about 5 minutes drive from our house, golf courses at Bigbury and Thurlestone. Sailing at Kingsbridge and Salcombe, sea kayaking and other watersports. Dartmoor is only 7 miles from us - we are pretty much equidistant from the coast to Dartmoor.

We had a fantastic holiday at Jacqui and Ben's stunning barn conversion. The house is beautiful with plenty of space for a family with children and although we didn't meet her, Jacqui was great with communication and all the check-in information was very comprehensive. Swallow's Haunt is in a fabulous location with gorgeous countryside views and very peaceful. Would love to come back to stay.

The location of Jacqui's home is spectacular, quiet, and rural, with a gorgeous view across hills and fields, over which the sun sets were spectacular. Great ease of driving to local beaches and with lovely rural walks nearby. The house was very homely and comfortable and a lovely atmosphere to arrive back at each day after a tiring day out. Thankyou Jacqui, you have a lovely home and we appreciate you letting us share it as our home away from home in your absence.

Lovely house, beautifully decorated, very well equipped, stunning views, very comfortable rooms and great location. We didn't meet Jacqui and family as they were away travelling but communication was excellent beforehand and on a written message when we arrived. Great spot to stay in Devon as there are so many wonderful places you can get to within 20-30 minutes. We stayed 4 nights. Recommended!

We had a wonderful time in your home. It poured with rain the whole time so we stayed in most of the time, and had everything we needed. Thanks for the recommendation for the butcher; it was excellent! The beds were comfortable, kitchen well equipped, lovely fluffy towels in both bathrooms. Thank you again for a wonderful visit.

We had a wonderful stay in Jacque's beautiful barn converted house which has got a lot of unique touches! We received a warm welcome from Jacqui and Ben upon arrival, who showed us around the house and provided us with plenty of useful information. We love the kitchen and the back garden the most in the house because of the truly idyllic view. We had a barbecue one evening in the garden and it was absolutely stunning. The location of the house is perfect, close to a lot of places. Once again, it has been a very enjoyable experience, and we would recommend this place and the hosts to everyone. Hope to see you again, Jacqui and Ben.
