Descrizione

Our charming 3 bedroom historic home in Sag Harbor village enjoys a peaceful and spacious yard surrounded by swaying reeds, a double-height beamed kitchen, and is a quick bike ride or walk to the shops and restaurants in the heart of town.

Welcome to the Bramble House - a true Sag Harbor antique. Our home was built in the mid-1800's by John Bramble, a carpenter and a son of the Revolution, who later passed it down to his son, a whaler, and his wife, a niece of President Franklin Pierce.
The house sits on a large village lot surrounded by scenic bulrushes. The ground floor has a formal dining room, cozy living area, double-height kitchen (which apparently was an old butcher shop floated over from North Haven many eras ago) with decorative wood-burning stove, a bedroom with one full bed, a full bathroom with a tub, and mudroom with washer/dryer. Unique leaded glass windows (salvaged from a church in New York City) are a highlight of the space.
Upstairs are two bedrooms, one with a queen bed, one with 2 twins, and another full bathroom.

Guests have access to the house and yard, as well as one parking space. Feel free to use our washer and drier, as well as the grill out back.

Depending on the timing, we may or may not be in the area. However, we will arrange easy access to the house and are always available via phone, text, or email.

Sag Harbor is known for its maritime history and quaint village architecture. The village is casual and elegant and sits directly on the water. Stroll through town visiting shops and restaurants and enjoy the boats along the wharf.

Getting to our home is easy. We suggest that your have a car, but alternate options include the Hampton Jitney, which stops in the village, and the Long Island Railroad, which is a short cab-ride away in Bridgehampton or East Hampton.

The house has its quirks, which to us make it charming and unique - the ceilings in the downstairs bedroom are quite low (just over 6'), as is the ceiling at the top of the stairs and in the upstairs bathroom, so please make a note of this regarding accessibility. We ourselves do not mind this and have learned to duck when necessary (as have many happy guests), but want our guests to be aware prior to booking.

Please be respectful of our neighbors and our house. We want you to enjoy it as much as we do, but it is precious and old and so should be treated accordingly.

Also please note that there is a separate small cottage on the property that we rent out year-round to another tenant who is quiet and respectful. The tenant has her own private entrance and does not use the yard, so she should not impact your stay in the slightest.
