This campsite is set back from the main house in the Carolinian forest. It is a totally private space situated on 3 acres of land and surrounded by several private trails that connect to the Ausable Cut Conservation Area.

Home to the beautiful Oak Savanna and the White Pine this unique ecosystem, proximity to hiking trails and the Ausable river is a campers dream. A short drive to the shores of Lake Huron and you can experience the most beautiful sunrise/sunsets on the planet. Shine on!

Lo spazio
The trails are primarily used for hiking, walking, trail running, bird and butterfly watching.

Bring your canoe or kayak and enjoy the Ausable river. Access to the boat launch is just at the end of our street (free parking). You can also access the river by portage (hiking from the campsite to the river (3-5min hike).

Access to the campsite requires our guests to hike for approximately 5 minutes. Much of the trail is uphill and sometimes it can have a steep incline. Please remember anything you bring will have to be carried back to the tent on this trail. We want as many people (no matter what their physical limitations may be) to enjoy the natural beauty of this space so if you think this could be a barrier to booking please reach out to us directly as we may be able to help carry some items if needed.

Accesso per gli ospiti
Guests have access to private parking, trails and the campsite area. There are several private trails on the property that encircle Treeheart tent. Guests will have these trails all to themselves plus a private sitting area at the top of the hill to watch the sun rise and set, check Wifi or just hang out and listen to the heartbeat of the natural setting.

Altre cose da tenere a mente
Although the campsite is completely private and our guests can expect total privacy the site does back onto a trailer park and you may on occasion hear the sounds of other campers as well as their lights and/or fires. Views of the park are obscured by thick brush and trees between the campsite and the park.

There is a hose now running up to the tent for all your water needs; however, no other water source is provided.

There is hydro at the campsite. There are two outlets. As well as fans and a heater (depending on the season you are camping)

WiFi is available but not in the tent itself. You will have to hike a small hill a few steps from the tent to get a WiFi signal (don't worry we have a few chairs there if you need to get some work done or check out what's going on in the world).

Like the rest of this ecosystem poison ivy is abundant. We have resources to help you identify this pesky plant on site so that you can take appropriate precautions during your stay.

Of note, because of covid, no bedding or pillows are provided. Firewood is not supplied.

Ticks are also unfortunately a natural part of the environment in this area (including the blacklegged tick which carries Lyme disease). We have resources to help you identify it so you can take appropriate precautions during your stay.

No alcohol or smoking on campsite property.

"In all things in nature, there is something of the marvelous." Aristotle. My husband Chris and I love nature and are excited to share this most unique space with everyone! I am a graduated Ayurvedic yoga instructor and am currently studying permaculture . It has been our dream to share a place in nature with other nature lovers. Practicing the Japanese art of Shinrin Yoku (forest bathing) is one of our favorite pastimes along with eco-yoga (yoga in nature). Walking along the trails and taking the time to pause and tune into the senses has awakened a sense of aliveness in the forest I was unaware of before. We live in a country blessed by nature I think we need to celebrate that! Treeheart is a four seasonal retreat set in the heartland of Ontario's West Coast. Each season shines its own inherent natural beauty. We look forward to sharing this beautiful healing space with you in these challenging times. Remember to pause and take a breath while your out walking the trails and see for yourself what happens next. Enjoy!! For every booking a tree seedling will be planted.
