Gite Corneilla offers self catering accommodation in the spacious ground floor of our large house. We offer a private decking with an unbroken view of the peak of Canigou with easy access to cycle and hiking trails from the door.
We are happy to offer either self catering in the whole ground floor, check whole gite pricing, or bed and breakfast priced per room.
The gite is a spacious, well appointed Gite, comfortable for six guests. It is on the ground floor of the house with two ensuite bedrooms, a large kitchen and dining room and a lounge.
Enjoy Gite Corneilla's spacious accommodation with a private garden and a decked outdoor dining area boasting a perfect view of the Peak of Canigou.
We also offer bed and breakfast with two ensuite bedrooms available that can sleep two and four guests.
Gite Corneilla is nestled in the foothills of the French Pyrenees, at the base of Mount Canigou, at 600 metres of altitude in the village of Corneilla De Conflent.
Perfectly situated between the sea and the skiing, just 45 minutes to either.
Spring, summer and autumn holidays are perfect for enjoying walking, mountain biking, climbing, via feratta, road biking, river and lake fishing, thermal spas, lots of sightseeing, and canyoning in this tranquil, unspoilt, mountain paradise.
There are lots of vtt and hiking tracks within minutes from the front door. Here is the perfect place to make long or short hikes and mountain biking holidays. Horse riding is available nearby too.
Winter holidays offer spectacular walking, biking or even skiing holidays followed by a relaxing soak in one of the natural thermal pools nearby.

Winter High Season - 500€ per week, Winter low Season - 450€ per week
Summer High Season- 500 € per week, Spring & Summer low Season- 450€
Prices include a set of house linen, electric, tax sejour, cleaning products and a basic starter pack of tea, coffee, sugar, and condiments.
Rentals are normally from 4pm saturday to 11 am the following Saturday but we may be able to accommodate other timings by prior arrangement.
There is a caution held of 300 euros refunded once the keys and the gite is handed back in a clean undamaged state. Cleaning is available by reservation.
We offer a double / twin room with bed and breakfast from 70 / 80 euros per night.
We offer a triple room with bed and breakfast from 80/90 euros per night.
We offer the family suite, sleeping upto four guests for 100 euros
There is a spacious ensuite twin bedroom. Also there is a family bedroom with a double bed and fullsize sturdy bunk beds. Both guest bedrooms have an ensuite shower room with a toilet and washbasin.
The kitchen is tastefully equipped with a four ring hob, electric oven, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and coffee machine and a full inventry of crockery and cutlery. A welcome pack of tea, coffee, sugar, milk and condiments is provided along with ample cleaning products and tea towels.
The dining room seats six comfortably with a high chair available on request. In the lounge, along with the settees seating six, there is a collection of books, a television and a dvd player.
We supply all the gite bed linen with a set of towels, and an inclusive basic starter pack. House linen consists of a fresh sheet, pillows with cases and a duvet with cover, spare blankets and throws.
The Gite has its own garden with a decked outdoor dining area seating six, with a perfect view of the Peak of Canigou.
An advanced starter pack can be ready for your arrival, enough for a dinner, breakfast and a lunch snack, please enquire when booking.

We offer an up to date information reference book to our guests and are more than happy to offer advice. We are a keen outdoor activity family with first hand experience of many biking, walking, horse riding trails from the Gite. we also offer help and advice on the higher mountain activities and ski resorts having spent a lot of time enjoying these pursuits.

Corneilla de Conflent, our village!
Gite Corneilla is situated at an altitude of 600 m at the foot of Mount Canigou, peak of 2784 m. In the centre of the village there is a boulangie with a small shop and a post office and tourist information. It is the perfect starting point to the Canigou Massif by foot or bike.
The Church of Corneilla Conflent, dates xi and xii century, a jewel of Romanesque art.
Vernet Les Bains, 3 kms from base
Renowned for its thermal health resort, spa, pools and gym, it is also at the foot of the Canigou massif - the sacred mountain of the Catalans, which rises to 2785 meters - in a small valley sheltered from the wind and enjoying plenty of sunshine (300 days per year)
There are huge hiking opportunities around the Canigou Massif and the valley of Cady and enjoy a visit to the waterfalls.
Villefranche de Conflent, 3kms from base.
The walled city of Villefranche de Conflent holds a prestigious past of military and economic Conflent, left preserved in the condition it enjoyed in the late seventeenth century. The ramparts have a remarkable stratification of military construction techniques, the Romanesque church of St-Jacques, narrow streets and shops of craftsmen. The shops now occupied by local artisans, cafes and restaurants.
The Yellow Train,
From the station of Villefranche de Conflent, this jolly yellow train serves more than 20 villages to and from the heights of the Pyrenees-Orientales as far as Latour de Carol. You can enjoy a return trip to the fortified Vauban village of Mont Louis the highest in France for a day out. There is an open air carrage too.

The Animal Park, Casteil, 5kms
Located at the foot of Canigou, the wild animals watch as you follow the 3 km path of 3kmof knowledge in their mountain environment.!
Abbaye St Martin du Canigou, Casteil
Founded in 1009 by the will of Guifred, Count of Cerdanya and Conflent, it is built on a rocky outcrop at the edge of a precipice. This Romanesque building is accessible by a 40 minutes walk from Casteil.
The Abbey of St-Michel Cuxa, Codalet
Only a few kilometers from Prades, is a vestige of Roman Art millennium. A must see, its steeple and the crypt of the Romanesque art of the first XI, the remains of a magnificent cloister and a forum of the XII.
The Priory Marcevol, Arboussols
Overlooking the Tet Valley, the priory was founded by the Canons in the twelfth century .
Prades is the largest village, 10 kms from base, with a large market on Tuesday selling plants, produce and even sewing machines, with a smaller one on Saturday. There are three large supermarkets and lots of other stores. The square is bustling with a café bar culture and enjoys an international music festival in July.
Molitg Baths and bains saint Thomas
Thermal baths just 8 km from Prades and 15 kms, welcome you to their exceptional quietness and serenity.
A fantastic place to relax and bathe in the natural cool mountain pools and enjoy the countryside!
Gorges of Caranca
An amazing hike up the river over suspension bridges and walking along cliff edges, not for the faint hearted. Extend the hike for an overnight stop at Caranca refuge.
About an hours drive away is the Cathar Castle of Queribus and nearby that is the Peyrepetuse castle which is perched high on a knife edge ridge, from where the views are breathtaking from its mountain top position. Cathar castles of Queribus and Peyrepetuse, Tautavel and the Galamus Gorge. Of course the beaches are only 50 minutes away too!
Normal check in time is 16.00 hours to allow us to air and service the gite and laundry. Normal check out time is 11.00am.
Sorry no smoking inside and no pets as we have two dogs, ponies and a cat!
Honor and Will enjoy a variety of outdoor sports, horse riding, skiing, sailing, mountain biking and hiking, so this is the perfect place to live for us!
It is fantastic to live here and offer self catering or bed and breakfast to guests in this spectacular area.
We love going off for a picnic with our daughter on foot or horse back with the dog in this unspoilt tranquil part of France. We very much enjoy the french gastronomic flavors and the fantastic climate for producing home grown fruit and vegetables.
Being half way between the skiing and sailing we have the best of both worlds!
