The apartment was as expected. We had a good sleep and enough space for our car right in front of the building. Thank you Konstantin.

I natively speak English, and my guest natively speaks Estonian. Communication over text was reasonable. When we arrived, we were greeted by the host's mother, who spoke only Russian. This was both awkward and amusing, but entirely welcoming. The first night was great, the apartment was essentially as advertised (though more bedspace has been added than is shown in the pictures). I showered in the evening, and my guest showered in the morning. Quiet night, great sleep! The next evening, we returned with food and cooked a bit. I did all the dishes but the pan, which I was going to use in the morning for breakfast. I took my evening shower and then got into bed. Unfortunately, it seems the shower had some sort of leak in it. We did not know this, but the downstairs neighbor had become very angry at leaking water. At around 11:45pm, he came up and rang, pressed, held, etc. the door buzzer for around 10 minutes. We don't speak Russian, and we had no idea what was going on, and it was pretty scary. We texted Konstantin, and he replied immediately (good) and suggested that since it was Friday night, someone might have just been drunk and confused. Okay! This must be what living in Narva is like, no worries? Then we get another text from Konstantin, more difficult to understand, but probably telling us about a possible leak and that his Dad will be coming over to look at it now. It is midnight, and we are in bed attire, but sure: a leak something that needs immediate attention. Sure enough, Dad shows up. Okay. With the furious downstairs neighbor. Not okay. At this point, I should say that if his parents' faces were posted with the AirBNB profile, or if Konstantin had accompanied his parents, then a lot of things would have gone *much* better. We asked the men outside the door to please wait, in Estonian, and we called Konstantin. They apparently did not understand any Estonian and the neighbor became angrier and began banging on the door with his fists. Konstantin became frustrated with my guest speaking Estonian and hung up on her. What could we do? I opened the door. The angry neighbor, perpetually cursing, enters the bathroom and begins throwing things about while the poor old father is on his knees inspecting for leaks. I'm pretty sure it was the side-wall caulk seal, but that was not going to get communicated in this environment. My guest (and myself) were pretty shaken up by all of this, and we hurriedly packed our things, tried to clear the kitchen of our items, and left. We stayed the night at a hotel in Jõhvi, about 40km West of Narva. We accidentally left some food (butter, bread, etc.) and my guest left her thermos in the apartment. I have not pursued any refund, as events really did seem like business as usual in Narva. TL;DR - Watch out for the shower...

This is the most interesting neighborhood in Narva, with historical buildings, parks and big supermarket nearby. Also very close to the train station. Everything worked well in the flat, and I had a great 1 month stay. Easy check in / check out and beautifully decorated apartment.
