Richard provided us with one of the best vacations I ever had! My wife and I actually forgot what day it was when we were on his boat. He takes you to some of the best moorings the VI has to offer. The marine life in these areas is some of the most diverse anywhere in the world. There are also of course some great watering holes and restaurants along the way if you desire. His seamanship skills are second to none and he is also an awesome cook and host. I highly recommend the beautiful, well appointed sea level to anyone!

This was out first time booking a trip with air bnb. We went for it based on the incredible reviews Richard had received. We were confident it would be a trip of a lifetime, but I will admit I still had a sliver of worry our high expectations could fall short. Still I knew it would be amazing regardless. From the first phone conversation with Richard he already seemed like a friend. He picked us up within minutes of our text, just as planned and we were off. The boat was immaculate and very comfortable, pristine but not fancy so we could feel at home. We instantly felt at home and excited for our five nights aboard Sea Level, we just hoped Richard felt the same! We were his first party of five! My husband I and had brought our son 16, and two daughters 13 and 9. Richard's kind and gentle way kept everyone relaxed even when we had an occasional "teenage moment". Each spot he picked for us to explore was perfect and we all just jumped right in, literally at WillyT's!. He took the time to make sure all of our equipment was working perfectly. The food was delicious and gobbled up by everyone and he had the perfect amount. Just to seal the deal with a perfect 5 star score he sent us home with lots of photos and an incredible video of our underwater adventure!

Sailing on Sea Level with Captain Richard was an amazing experience. I was a little worried that the heat and humidity in the Virgin Islands would be too much for sleeping in a boat but with the breeze from the ocean and the fans with airflow, we did not have any problems sleeping. Richard was a great host and able to suggest different options for the trip based on what the goals of the trip are. So much to see under the water. Such a fun adventure.

My daughter and I just got home from a 5 day vacation with Richard. His experience as a sailor and a diver is beyond compare. He is extremely well equipped to show you the most beautiful snorkeling adventures and we had a lot of fun sailing from cove to cove. He is very familiar with the history of the islands. I do recommend that you have everything you desire to drink and eat at the onset of the trip as you will really will not want to go to the grocery store once you are under sail. This is a wonderful lasting memory for my daughter and myself.

We had an absolutely fantastic time with Richard on Sea Level. What an experience! Our expectations based on the reviews were pretty high and I think our visit exceeded our expectations. It was a great way to see the Virgin Islands, both US and BVI. The snorkeling was fantastic, the sea life spectacular. I was concerned that being May it would be too hot onboard when we were moored, it wasn't. I also wondered about bugs--living in northern Florida I am familiar with some of the unpleasant bugs and pests around water. No bugs! No mosquitoes! It was a relaxing, very pleasant trip. The food on board (we ate primarily on board with Richard doing all cooking, all prep) was terrific. We enjoy food and when asked what would we like to eat, we always responded "chef's choice" and it turned out wonderful every time. When asked where we wanted to go in the mornings, we asked what did the captain recommend, and it was always great. I don't think you could find a better, more enjoyable way to see the Virgin Islands. Plus the bonus to me, I didn't have to completely educate myself about the area because he knew so much, his knowledge of the history of the area and the way it shared it with us was wonderful. I didn't have to figure out transportation from one island to another nor meet transportation schedules. Oh yeah, and this may be important to folks--this was our first time living on a boat other than a very large cruise ship. Also, the only times we had been sailing were on half day snorkel trips in Maui, Key West and the Bahamas.

My husband and I booked our first 3 nights of our honeymoon here. Richard was FANTASTIC! He took us to some great spots around USVI and BVI. We went to a few different towns, snorkeled at some of the best spots around (he even took videos of us snorkeling with a go-pro), made us fabulous meals and drinks (especially is famous painkillers!), sent us on some great hikes, and knew the best spots overall. He knows a lot about the history of the area and is an excellent sailor -- and had some great stories to share! He knew when to engage with us and when to give us some space. We can't wait to come back and spend some more time in the islands.

Captain Richard did a fantastic job taking us sailing for 3 days. It was like having your own private captain, chief and tour guide while visiting multiple bays around St John. After picking us up from the airport Captain Richard went out of his way to make us feel comfortable. While on-board his beautiful sailboat he cooked for us some amazing meals and shared wonderful stories. He also knew the best snorkeling stops on the island and was very knowledgeable about sea life. I would highly recommend that you try this experience because you will make great memories that will last a lifetime!

I hold a USCG 100 ton Master license with all endorsements. I was working as a Captain on a 60 ft. catamaran for 74 passengers, and a 42 ft. SCUBA dive boat for 17 divers. I have left that job to do AirBnB full time.
My area of operation is the US and British Virgin Islands.
In my previous life I started out as a cook and a baker in the US Navy, which led me to complete a 2 year degree in Culinary Arts and Restaurant Managing. Then it was back to college to study aviation for my 4 year BS degree. I started as a flight instructor and worked my way up the ladder to fly for a major airline, USAirways. After 29 years as a pilot, I retired in 2000 as a Boeing 737 Captain.
After retiring, I fulfilled my life long dream by sailing my boat from Baltimore to Thailand through the South Pacific. My favorite island to visit was New Zealand.
Returning to the States in 2006 I found my current boat "Sea Level" in the British Virgin Islands. I enjoyed sailing and living in the Virgin Islands so much I decide to stay and make it my home.
Being in the tourist industry, I get to meet many interesting people from all walks of life. So many have come as guests and leave as friends.
