Delightful ONE bedroom Four Star Self Catering accommodation for up to 2 people in a converted Stable in the peaceful garden of a picturesque 16th century Grade 11 listed thatched cottage, conveniently placed for touring the south of England.

The beautifully designed Stable has a bedroom with double bed, shower room with double shower, kitchen & lounge. Do visit the web site photos page to fully appreciate the lovely interior, and see the list of facilities and the full list of Quest Comments.

At the front of the stable there is a small patio with table and chairs. Walks through countryside start 100 metres down the Drove.

You can be assured of an initial warm welcome by your hosts, then you are left to yourselves to enjoy the peace and every convenience at your disposal. Enjoy the views of the Thatch, flood lit in the evening, and the fairy tale approach to the Stable entrance.

The Stable is close to local amenities - a petrol station with mini market/ post office and two pubs are within walking distance. The M27 is a ten minute drive away, where there is a retail park hosting a large Marks & Spencer’s, Sainsbury’s and fast food outlets. Two main line railway stations are nearby with regular trains to London.
Southampton Airport is only 15 minutes away by car.

Local attractions are listed on the web site and include a whole host of leisure activities. Coastal attractions include, Portsmouth, Hamble, The Royal Victoria Country park, Bournemouth, and Southsea. The New Forest is about 30 minutes away, Romsey (about 20 minutes) Portsmouth (20 minutes).


This delightful self-catering accommodation is convenient for Eastleigh, Winchester, Southampton/Airport, The New Forest, Bournemouth, Portsmouth and ferries to the Isle of Wight /France.

The perfect retreat for those who prefer seclusion to socialising in a guest house or hotel, whether it be for, a Romantic Getaway from the bustle of everyday life, a Holiday, a Celebratory Weekend Break, an Overnight Stay, Short Term Business, or a Work Secondment. You may come to enjoy a walk in the country nearby, to watch cricket at The Rose Bowl or football at St. Mary’s Stadium, or to visit friends or relatives.
Parking space for one car is available in the Drove. Local public transport is limited making a car essential to explore the area.

THE RENTAL Includes heating and lighting, bedding and bed linen, towels & tea towels.
- Up to 2 people – double bed in bedroom
- Includes a welcome pack which for 7 days or more will include milk, homemade bread & cake, fruit, cereals, jam, biscuits, tea & coffee etc. as much organic as possible and complimentary toiletries.
- all the water is filtered as we have a whole house filter on our incoming supply.
- Commences from 3 pm on the day of arrival to 10 am on the day of departure
- is generally from Friday to Friday (flexible)

Wi fi is FREE for bookings of 7 nights or more. For shorter stays the charge is £1.50 per night of stay.
This is provided on the basis of a fair use policy where it is expected the internet will be used for checking emails and light surfing and not downloading films, music or TV etc.

RETAINER – for Cleaning and Damage to Furnishings. We do not ask for a retainer as we trust our guests to leave the accommodation in a similar state of cleanliness as they found it on arrival. This includes the cooker hob, grill, oven and microwave and all washing up done and put away clean.
All personal belongings should be removed including left over food and drink.
Should this not be done then an additional charge will be made.
Breakages do occur so please let us know if anything gets broken or damaged so that we can arrange replacement or repair as soon as possible.

Hilary and Mike are such gracious and thoughtful hosts. Everything about stable cottage was delightful and the space was perfect for me. A well equipped kitchen made cooking for one really easy and despite the very chilly weather the Stable was always a warm and cosy place to come home to. It was located perfectly for local amenities, but felt wonderfully secluded. I am looking forward to returning for a second stay!

Just the 3 nights for me as I was working in the area. I wish I could stay longer and hope to book again another time. I lovely building, very well equipped, clean, an exceptional property with friendly helpful hosts which made me feel like it was a home away from home. Really quiet, but still close to major routes. It was exactly what I needed and more.
