Lisa, sorry you did not feel comfortable. To date, 44 people have stayed in the room over more than 2 years with 80% 5 star rating (average 4.8 stars, nothing under 3 stars) so most people have been very happy with the place. And to be fair, you have left out a few details. When you reported the house was too warm when the furnace came on, I came out and found the reason ... somehow the thermostat settings had been set to 80 degrees. So I reset the thermostat settings which solved the problem. The instructions for setting the thermostat are on the fold down cover of the thermostat itself. When I came to the house at 12 (not 1am), it was because you had sent me a message saying the power was not working. It was very inconvenient for me to come out, but I interpreted your message as being urgent, so I messaged you right away to say I would be there in 20 minutes, which I was, and I found the circuit breaker was tripped, and so I reset the circuit breaker, and I explained to you at the time, and I left. Regarding checking the attic, I advised you at the time that I needed to access the attic for maintenance, and you did not object. Regarding the stranger who knocked on the door, I agree this was unfortunate. It has never happened before or since and at the time, I advised you to lock the front gate, and you decided not to lock it. After you advised that the stranger returned again, I returned and locked the front gate myself, and advised you I had locked it, and after that, there was never a recurrence. Finally when you advised that you did not feel comfortable, (3 days later), I offered to refund you double the rate you paid for your remaining 3 days, and you declined and decided to stay. I apologize for any inconvenience. However, from my perspective, you need to take responsibility for your side of things, including not locking the gate when advised to do so, and choosing to stay when you were offered a refund of double your rate for remaining days.
