I have five apartments listed with airbnb, 2C, 3B, 4A, 5B (these I manage for other owners) and 7A that I own, all these apartments are in the same building. I also live in this building on the 9th floor with the two co-hosts. There is a doorman/concierge. Apartment keys and a building and apartment briefing are provided on arrival (either by me, a co-host or the concierge) and if you have any issues during your stay these will be resolved rapidly.

I am a superhost, the significance of this is that I have never cancelled someone’s booking, and statistically these apartments rate at least 9.6 out of a possible 10. There are more than 550 reviews from previous guests that have stayed in the building, with a 4.9 star rating out of 5. If you look through these reviews, the reviews should answer many of your questions. You can reserve this and other apartments instantly, there is no need to make prior contact. Once you have made a reservation, contact information is provided by airbnb automatically, all you have to do is arrive at the building, no different to reserving a hotel or hostel.

To reserve an apartment on airbnb, you need to have a verified airbnb account. To be verified you need to provide to airbnb a copy or your ID (passport, drivers license or cedula), your cell number and an email. All airbnb reservations are paid for by one of the following Mastercard, Visa or American Express, I do not accept cash payments.

This apartment has three bedrooms, three bathrooms, one with a Jacuzzi, with big Living room and Balcony. The living room has a large six panel glass window that provides uninterrupted views of the beautiful sunsets over the ocean. This apartment is the size of a small house and is equipped with modern white goods (split AC, Washer Dryer). If you look through the pictures you will see actual pictures of this apartment, and pictures are routinely updated, what you see is what you get. The actual location is provided on the airbnb map, recently two guests gave four stars out of five for location, if you don’t like the location, its simple do not reserve an apartment here, same goes for value, if you’re not going to give a five star rating for value, do not reserve an apartment here!

If you want an apartment in a building with consistent high reviews then reserve an apartment here, if you want a cheap apartment were possibly will have issues, book elsewhere, it’s like the old adage 'You pay for what you get', and one piece of advice, if you book something on airbnb with no reviews, maybe there is a reason, for example, maybe that listing has a bad review or reviews, and the account holder simply starts a new account.

The Apartment has fiber-optic cable internet (NETLIFE 50 Mbps) and its own Netflix account. The apartment has the most diverse package of Cable TV available in Salinas, including 10 movie channels, CNN and many more, there is the option of changing the language to English, approximately 60% of the available channels will then be received in English.


This apartment was modernized and upgraded in September 2018, split air conditioning was installed in the principal bedroom and the living room, portable air conditioning units were installed in both secondary bedrooms. New Washer, Dryer, Stove and a Jacuzzi with separate shower in the 3rd bathroom, also a new shower in the ensuite, as well as many small improvements. And the apartment totally repainted.

The Building has high level of Security and is located in the safest area of Salinas so you can unwind and relax while feeling safe at all times.

Building utilizes swipe discs for elevator and electronic front door access. There is also a Concierge on duty daily, their hours are from 8am to 8pm Sunday to Thursday, 8am to 9pm Friday and 8am to 10pm Saturday and 9am to 8pm Sunday.

Transport - transport from Guayaquil Airport can be arranged in a private vehicle (small sedan more suited to 2-4 people with 4 bags). (taxis in Ecuador are compact so they don't hold a great deal of people nor luggage)
Note: To rent a taxi 'on the spot' from the Airport to Salinas could be as much as $100 or more.
If needed I can also organise a van if you are travelling with 4-6 people or have multiple bags (recently I organised a van for 5 people, 5 carry-on bags and 10 checked-in bags with this costing $150).

Car parking available for Small-Medium Cars (however realistically if you’re traveling from another country there is no need to have your own car as public transport easily covers all needs and will save you a lot of money)

Why rent at a hostel for $20 a person or a hotel for $40 a person for a one bedroom hotel room with cold-water or more a night in high season, when you can rent in this luxury apartment, that is the size of a small house with three bedrooms with much more benefits, such as preparing your own meals.

All. Building does have an internal garage, however it is only suitable for small-medium size vehicles! Large vehicles will not fit at all! Should you have a vehicle that will not fit in the garage there is ample street parking out the front of the building that many guests have used without any incidents.

1: This is an apartment building. There are NO cameras located inside of the apartment. However, there are security cameras located in the lobby, in the elevator and on the exterior of the building.
2: To access the lobby from the front of the building, there are 10 stairs. However, the back garage has a vehicle ramp that can be used for wheelchair access to the lobby.
3: Salinas is a tourist and holiday destination, there is a Potential for noise on weekends and holiday periods.
4: This is an apartment building. Some owners (and renters) may have pets.
5: This is not a hotel with 24 hour service, this is an apartment, it is a provided clean and then it is up to you to keep it clean!
6: Salinas is has a arid desert climate, so a time when there is wind, expect dust to be about. Either keep windows and doors shut, or expect to sweep every now and then!
7: Smoking is only permitted on the Balcony! No smoking inside of the apartment nor inside of any parts of the building!
8: No events or parties! No excessively loud music that will disturb your neighbors!
9. All persons are required to wear a face mask while in all building common areas

Retired after 24 years in the Australian Defence Force and now Living in Salinas Ecuador for the past 11 years. I live in the Phoenix Building also as it is close to everything and is secure. Remember this is an apartment building, not a hotel, I don't own the building, other owners live here. However should you need assistance during your stay, usually someone is here to assist you. Know your stay will be excellent. More than 620+ Reviews from previous guests that have stayed in the Phoenix Building in the five apartments listed on airbnb with a rating of 4.9 out of 5. I have two co-hosts, Jay and Jeff, they can both communicate in Spanish/English, they also live here in the Phoenix Building and usually handle check ins (if they are not at University), the Building's doormen can also handle check-ins. At peak occupancy I also have a cleaner that cleans and prepares the apartments and possibly will handle some check ins. Should you have any problems or concerns, with the cleaning or anything, please let me know immediately, and know these will be taken care of promptly.
