Although it was a short stopover, enjoyed the awesome views of larrys place. Very relaxing and enjoyable. Awesome breakfast prior to leaving Sunday.

Larry's place was amazing. Located in the Vermont countryside, with beautiful chickens following us like pets, and rolling hills and trees surrounding the house. The house itself was like something out of a magazine. Beautifully decorated with antiques, it was both homey and a feast for the eyes. And the bed was comfortable! We also just loved Larry, a consummate host who surprised us with gourmet breakfasts as part of the cost to stay. Such an amazing two days in Vermont!

The house is very old but well-maintained, and the air conditioner was a welcome modern addition. The bed was very comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. Although we were an easy ten-minute drive from Middlebury, it really felt like a retreat from the rest of the world. Larry was a very friendly and accommodating host.

What a pleasure. I was there overnight, but it was more memorable and enjoyable then entire week stays I've had at other homes. Larry is such a great guy. Loved the following: 1) Larry's stories about his pioneer days as a standup comic in NYC 1980s before he became a college professor 2) Larry's country breakfast -- eggs from his farm, pancakes whipped up with batter from scratch, bottomless coffee, and oh that bacon. What an unexpected treat. 3) Learning about the history of the farm on Snake Mountain, just outside Middlebury. 4) How much sheep sell for (not including the wool) I'll be back for leaf peeping season!

We enjoyed staying in this 1804 home on a sheep farm. Larry was a great host. The maple syrup he made was a special treat.

I came to Vermont more than a dozen years ago, when I fell in love with this early farmhouse, the mountain location, and the fields below. As I tried to decide how to answer the inevitable “What do you want to be when you grow up?” question (the answer still eludes me), I apprenticed at one of the restaurants associated with Philadelphia’s famed “restaurant renaissance” while attending graduate school for cultural anthropology. Besides the B & B (and ongoing restoration projects) I teach Latin American Studies at SUNY in Plattsburgh, and raise polled Dorset sheep.
