We were in the island mid September.
Paolo's place is at the end of a small building complex, very conveniently located at the heart of Isola Bella. It is very hard to park in Taormina, especially in August, but this place had its own parking spot, which was really great. It is also close to the cable car, to go up to Taormina, and we simply walked 5 minutes to get there every night. This house has a great location you can't beat.
The house also has a good portion of the yard which is private to it. From the end of the yard, there is a really beautiful view of Isola Bella. There is a table here to have meals or relax.
There is a small deck with a table and chairs on it. Since this is the end of the apartment complex, one side is a hill with trees. It was a private and calm place.
Since house is surrounded by trees and plants, there were a lot of mosquitoes, so you might want to be prepared. At times they made it difficult to stay outside.
The inside of the house was rather old. We wished it were newer. There were a heavy moisture smell when we first entered the house. We tried to air the apartment for a few days, but you could still smell and feel the moisture accumulated inside the house. Bathroom is a bit small and has a sliding wooden door. There is also no A/C. I think the house could use a good remodeling.
All in all, we liked and recommend the house, but it would be much better if it weren't for the mosquitoes and the oldish interior.
