El Canchon is one of the last remaining traditional colonial Spanish courtyard buildings in the historic Inca section of Ollantaytambo! Featuring private balcony, access to courtyard, patio, garden, and modern kitchen, shower with unlimited high pressure hot water, this quiet retreat is the perfect place to relax just steps from the main plaza and ruins, with panoramic views of mountains and ruins, you won’t want to leave!

Lo spazio
An entire block of the historic Inca section of Ollantaytambo, 2 minutes walk from the Plaza de Armas and 5 minutes walk from the main archaeological site, relax in our traditional garden, eat and drink on your private balcony, and sleep sound just minutes from restaurants, shops, and more!

Accesso per gli ospiti
El Canchon features a beautiful traditional garden, filled with local trees, flowers, and other plants. Hummingbirds love the flowers all year round, native trees provide natural shade and bear fruit in season. A main courtyard and cobblestone patio provide comfortable seating close to your room and the kitchen, or you can relax in the grassy garden or one one of several balconies. Laundry service is available, and we are also here to help you if you have questions about the area, things to do, or to assist with transportation and other logistics. A modern kitchen is available for your use.

Altre cose da tenere a mente
Our beds and pillows are comfy, equipped with cotton sheets, comforters, and extra blankets if you want them. Your room also comes with an electric kettle, tea and herbal tea, sugar, fresh flowers, and an easy to access surge-protected power strip that supplies 240V — we advise bringing your own adapters! If your stay will be a longer one, ask us about a mini-fridge.

Ollantaytambo, Cuzco, Perù

Just a short walk up cobblestone-paved Calle Horno from the Plaza de Armas, we’re 2 minutes from the main action, but oh so quiet — mostly what you’ll hear is birdsong and the babbling of the ancient Inca waterways that still run through Ollantaytambo’s historic Inca sector. We’re steps away from the main archaeological site and the steep walk up to the Inca granaries, as well as restaurants, bars, shopping, pharmacies, and the main market, not to mention the moto taxi stand, taxi stand, and bus stop for public transit to the rest of the Sacred Valley and Cusco. The train to Machu Picchu is a ten minute walk, or about 3 minutes by moto taxi.

Durante il tuo soggiorno
El Canchon is my home, so you may run into me around common areas like the garden or kitchen, but unless we’ve planned to get together, that’s the only time you’ll see me. I’m available to answer your questions by text, email, or phone, but you will probably mostly see my right hand Martha who keeps everything running smoothly. She is also available by phone, text, or email if you need anything at all.
