If you've ever dreamt of living at the seaside- in the 'Beach House' at the beautiful bay of Ovabükü you can realize your dream:

L'alloggio

Dipping into the clear turquoise sea just after awakening in the morning, having breakfast under the tamarisk tree on the beach, watching the glittering moonshine on the waves in the evening and falling asleep with the voice of the sea. Living in close contact to the sea will make you forget your daily worries. For relaxing and recharging your energy this is an ideal environment.
The recently renovated beachhouse with modern amenities has a cosy atmosphere. There is room for 5 persons (2 double rooms and 1 single room).
The large terrace shadowed by grapeleaves offers fantastic sea views. From the terrace you immediately step onto the beach, where you find shade under the tamarisk tree or under the turquois umbrellas reserved for your use on the waterfront.
The village supermarket and small romantic restaurants are in walking distance on the beach. You can enjoy the delicious vegetables grown in private gardens and fresh fish.
The swimming season extends well into the autumn because the sea stays warm till December. November with its windstill days and watertemperature of 23-24 degrees is still ideal for swimming and also the beginning of the trecking season.
Living at the seaside will be an unforgettable experience for you !

Dorothee and Yilnaz were excellent hosts and went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. They helped us by booking our ferry crossing from Bodrum and their instructions to find the cottage were excellent.

I can't say enough wonderful things about the Yilmaz and Dorothe's Beach House at Ovabükü on the Datça peninsula. The restored old stone house right on the beach was exactly as described and pictured. We were stunned by the beauty of the bay and picturesque location when we arrived and even as the days passed, we still had to pinch ourselves to believe our luck at finding this place. The house, three bedrooms, a bathroom and a kitchen, is comfortable but not fancy; it is definitely a beach house. However, that said, everything works well, has been recently updated, and is in good condition. There were five of us, three adults and two kids, so we cooked almost every meal in the house and the kitchen was laid out for its size (medium to small), worked well, and contained good kitchen tools and pans. Two of us could cook and work together comfortably (with some accommodation) in the kitchen. We did all of our eating and "family room" activities at the big table on the porch with a fantastic view of the beach, the sunset, the stars, and the Greek isles within sight across the bay. The beach, as pictured, is a rocky beach (beautiful stones). Often there is a brisk wind off the beach (very nice on hot days) and the current in the bay picks up speed then as well. The kids and all of us spent a lot of time on the beach and reading and napping on the chaise lounges under the turquoise umbrellas. The water was still cold in June when we went, but warms up as the summer heats up. Ovabüku is a very small beach town, so it's quiet. There are small pensions on either side of the beach house and so the guests at those establishments inhabited the beach on either side of us. In general, everyone was friendly. They were primarily Turks and Germans. Their kids played with our kids. There are several day trips worth taking in the immediate area, to the town of Datça and its nearly ancient and restored village, to Palamutbükü, a nearby and larger village, to Knidos, the ruins of a vibrant and important port city at the end of the penninsula, as well as visits to the many hidden and lovely beaches between Ovabükü and the end of the peninsula (Knidos). Also, from the next bay it's possible to take a day's sailing trip to several locations in the area including Knidos. Enjoy fresh fish at the local restaurants and the excellent local produce sold at the twice a week farmer's market in Palamutbükü. I've saved the best for last. Yilmaz and Dorothe couldn't have been kinder or better hosts. They are truly lovely people who love Ovabükü and want their guests to enjoy the locale as much as they themselves do. Dorothy's English is excellent. Both speak German and Turkish. They made us feel entirely at home and took excellent care of us.
