Great home for a week in the summer.
Victorian Home located in the Historic Broadway/Bliss-Kay section of town. It is one of the original homes built in this neighborhood dating from 1880's. It has wide pine plank floors and most of the original glass windows and frames. The neighborhood is entirely residential but just one block up is Broadway where the best restaurants in Newport are located.
The house has a relaxed feel. It is mainly antiques collected from our family however, there are bits of art from our travels around the world. It has gas stove in the living room (winter), hardwood floors throughout, wifi, cable, hot tub (winter), and beautifully maintained.
It has three and two half bedrooms. Two queen beds and one king bed. Two of those bedrooms have sitting rooms with pull out, full futons (super thick comfortable mattress). Two people can sleep in each bed=10 people. WAIT! There is more! Some one could crash on the sofa in the living room=11 people. Or you could bring your own blow up mattress and set it up in the living room=12-13 people.
It has a great kitchen for cooking and entertaining around the island. Equipped with dishwasher, gas cooktop and oven, microwave, toaster, refrigerator and utensils. We are also licensed to do a B&B so the house is fully equipped to suit your every need.
We have information here to make you feel right at home. We have restaurant recommendations, brochures, ironing board, blow dryers, movies, books, recommendation guide, etc, etc. Relax in the living room on the rocking chairs or lounge in the hot tub on the back porch under the stars in the winter. BBQ grill is on the back porch with the 4 person hot tub. Fire pit is in the back yard as well as table and chairs.
Thames Street is only a 15 minute walk. The beach is only one mile away. Museums, Mansions, Vineyards, Festivals await you.

This is one of the most charming homes I have ever seen. From the wood stove to the antique furniture to the beautiful kitchen, everything was cozy and well thought out. Nick and Brian were both super helpful before and during the stay, going above-and-beyond the call of duty as Airbnb hosts. When we showed up, Brian even greeted us with a plate of fresh-baked cookies! They run another inn in town, and it's obvious that they are masters of all things hospitality. Great hosts, gorgeous home, awesome location for exploring the charms of Newport.
I travel quite often and have rented my share of houses over the years. I was very impressed with this rental. Nick made my sisters and I feel welcomed and comfortable immediately upon our arrival. He went above and beyond to ensure we had all necessary information about the house, neighborhood, and city to have a very relaxing weekend. We certainly felt right at home. We were not sure how far of a walk it would be to the downtown area but it ended up being very walkable. We got around by foot all weekend quite easily. The backyard was also very serene. The fire pit and hot tub were very relaxing after a long day. There were plenty of restaurants nearby as well as liquor stores. Parking was also very easy. I highly recommend this house and look forward to returning one day soon.
I recently stayed at the Inn Bliss for a long weekend with a group of friends and we had an amazing time! The house was perfect, exactly as described if not better. We had plenty of sleeping space and the kitchen was exactly what we needed. We enjoyed everything about this house, especially the surprise homemade chocolate chip cookies we came home to after a day at the beach. Thank you Nick, we had a great stay and already want to come back!!
Stayed at Bliss Inn for the duration of the Newport Folk Festival, and couldn't have asked for a better spot. Close enough to walk to downtown and the ferry during the day, far enough to have a nice respite at night. The place was very comfortable and well kept, and we had nothing but positives.
I even forgot a new pair of shoes and Nick was kind enough to take them to the Post Office and mail them back for me.
We appreciated that Nick made us feel welcome and at home in his place and it really contributed to us having a great experience in Newport!
I rented this house over the 4th of July and am very disappointed in the way Nick handled several situations. I found his manner before we arrived, while we were there and after our stay to be curt, snarky, and all around rude. When we got there the hot tub was broken and there was a mountain of trash outside the house from the guests before us (which was never cleaned up the 4.5 days we were there - so smelly!) When I asked for a marginal refund for the out of use hot tub ($100 out of the $3,700 we paid) he came back with ridiculous allegations that we not left the house in proper order. What's funny is he refunded our full deposit - so clearly the manner in which we left the house was okay with him. I had sent him another email about this but he never responded back. Not very professional!
Coree was not a very good customer. Before she even arrived she was already trying to get money off the bill. She came up with ridiculous allegations of us changing the amount of bedrooms in the house. Airbnb photographed our property and they can attest that it is legit and we are very upfront and honest about what the house is. In fact, Coree's initial email to us even acknowledged all of this. Thank goodness for email documentation!
The trash is picked up once a week (like every other city in America). Coree only rented a few days so the trash from the previous renters was still there in the trash storage area plus then added her own trash (in which her friends did a HUGE Costco run before they arrived so it was full of big boxes and giant packaging). I tried getting the Waste Management to pick up early that week but it was 4th of July so nobody was working. There was nothing I could do. I recommend renting for a week next time so you do not have to deal with other people's trash.
The previous renters left the day Coree arrived and the hot tub must have sprung a leak in the motor somehow. Luckily it was 100 degree weather and I think if anyone used the hot tub anyway, they probably would have been in the emergency room for heat exhaustion. I thought they would be more into beaches that week but for some reason she wanted a hot tub. Go figure! Anyway...Again it was 4th of July when they arrived so not only was there no technicians working all week but just to order the parts took a day or two. She tried blackmailing me to refund the $100 which I did not (email hidden)d I was going to do it until she broke her end of the bargin.
Then she waited until after we refunded her security deposit to start asking for money back. If I had known she was going to be so difficult, I would have charged her security deposit the money to which it took to clean up her friends mess and for the broken antique window frame. I was trying to be nice because I got the impression she was going to be a repeat customer. She is definitely a sneaky person and I do not recommend her to other renters.
Nick was such a gracious and helpful host, and made our stay in Newport all the more enjoyable and comfortable. He makes the most amazing cookies! (yum). He is very thorough, accommodating and organized.
The property is lovely and charming. Much bigger than we all expected it to be at such an affordable price, can easily sleep 10-12 people. Has all the amenities you need and the location is great. Great for groups or families. We'd love to rent this place again.
