The room is a lovely and bright with a double sofa bed (for one or two people). The room looks onto gardens, has wooden floors and warm yellow walls. The room has some character with a wooden vintage chest of drawers, a pretty painted white clothes rail, nice art and an old school desk. It has a pretty fireplace and lots of books on wooden shelves, including books you can browse about London. You will have chest of drawers and hanging space. We have friendly cats so we hope you are cat-friendly! The room is on the first floor of a colourful characterful house in a pretty Victorian pedestrian lane. Ideally I am looking for longer-term bookings for 1-3 months. May be able to extend t. I can do B&B or you can be our lodger where you use the kitchen and share the home.

Your room is all yours, and you have access to a shared bathroom (with both bath and shower), plus an extra loo-room, two outdoor terraces (including 1 sunny roof terrace), and use of kitchen with washing/drying machine, dishwasher etc. Free wi-fi throughout house.

We are a small friendly household, and I am very happy to advise on interesting local places, transport links etc. I am sociable, interested in talking to people, although I can be busy at times. I work as a photographer and social researcher, and run a university course on Exploring London.

There are so many great things to do within walking distance, and it is a really charming, diverse area to explore. We are a few minutes from Hampstead Heath with open air swimming ponds, a lido, cafe, playground, farmers market, and a fantastic view of London from the famous Parliament Hill. Nightlife includes an amazing array of restaurants from every continent, busy pubs and trendy cocktail bars, a comedy club, theatre and many music venues, from small jazz clubs to the O2Forum, host to many famous bands. We are a 20 minute walk to Camden with its famous market, shops, bars and clubs. There is a local gym and swimming pool (15 mins walk) and lots of useful nearby shops including a hairdresser, pharmacist, grocery. Many many places to use, explore and enjoy.

There are really fantastic, quick transport links, near 2 undergrounds, 2 train stations and many buses to get you anywhere you want really fast. It is a short tube or train journey from St Pancras, Kings Cross & Euston stations. Tubes and trains to Heathrow and Gatwick are easy (1-1.5 hours). Ther is a direct train to Stratford (Olympic park) and Kew Gardens to mention a few highlights!

As you can see in the photos the lane we live on is charming, the neighbours are nice and friendly and it is a great place to live. This would suit someone who is relaxed about a homely living space, loves cats, wants to be in inner London, with access to fun and interesting local facilities and brilliant transport links.

If you could be quiet-ish after midnight we would be grateful. You can smoke outside on one of the terraces.

I am a working mum and live here with my daughter, our very nice lodger and cats! I love reading, cooking and hanging out with my family and friends. I used to be a photographer and have worked with a range of community groups, and now I mostly work as a social researcher and lecturer (including teaching a sociology course on London) - so my interests and career are quite diverse! My favourite holiday is spending time at my caravan by the seaside. Although I was a visitor to London myself once (originally from the countryside) and still find this city endlessly fascinating.
