Casa Belady's romantic luxury suite in the upper floors of a hacienda-style villa was
designed by renowned Mexican architect Emmanuel Garcia Lugo . Surrounded by bougainvillea and coconut palms, it's just a brief walk to the beach..

The spacious bedroom overlooks a garden in a tranquil neighborhood filled with surrounded by restaurants and small hotels. Its sleeping area, white tile bathroom and lofted living area nestle under a 20 ft high artesanal clay brick dome. No hills to climb!

Lo spazio
Located in a secure neighborhood near the classic Paloma del Mar hotel, you enter the villa through a tall pair of carved Moroccan doors and Córdoba-style wrought iron security gate by Vallarta artist Miguel Orozco. The guest area consists of:
a huge (14 x 17 ft) bedroom with dome
with private stairway
private entrance, also under a clay brick dome
new spotless white tile bathroom with hand-painted talavera accents
private terrace
separate loft living area for work / tv with Netflix
AC
wifi

A second clay brick dome graces the huge tiled garden and courtyard, where you cross through rose stone cantera columns from San Luis Potosi and bouganvilea blossoms to your private spiral staircase and charming Juliette balcony. Tall glass doors lead into your elegant bedroom suite bright with textile art from Mexico, Afghanistan, Syria, India, Saudi Arabia, and Palestine and dark hand-carved furniture from Jalisco

Amidst warm shades of terra cotta, the king-sized bed (additional inflatable available) nestles under an elegant canopy. Hand-woven Mexican cotton macrame curtains offer privacy.

In the loft's large living area you can relax on hand-made leather equipal sofas from Jalisco state while watching tv (Netflix available), or check emails at the cozy table. Coffee or tea are available daily, along with filtered water in the mini fridge. Enjoy a cool cocktail in your own living room on your private terrace overlooking Bolivia Street.

The sleeping area as well as the living room nestle under a dramatic 20 foot high cupola crafted by hand from clay bricks.

This great location in Colonia 5 de diciembre is quiet and restful, but filled with with dozens of inexpensive restaurants, taco stands, tortilla factories, street vendors, shopping and bars. Musicians and singers at the nearby Meños Restaurant serenade us from its rooftop most evenings. Teatro Vallarta and Ley Supermarket are only 4 blocks from Casa Belady and three more blocks along the beach you will reach the north end of the Malecón (park along beach from Colonia 3 de diciembre to the centro and Zona Romántica.

The Vallarta City Hall / Cathedral of Guadalupe / beachfront plaza / nightclubs lie a 20 minute walk south or 5 minutes in a taxi or Uber ($4 US).

Colonia 5 de diciembre combines the feel of old world Mexico with all the conveniences for an unforgettable visit. And because of the blend of people here - a large majority living here full time - it truly feels like a neighborhood more than just a tourist destination.

Anne Marie moved to Vallarta from Dallas TX, where she founded and for 25 years directed a nonprofit that produced the Dallas International Festival, Fiesta Latinoamericana! and a dozen additional internationally-themed cultural and educational projects. Prior to that she had lived for 11 years in Saudi Arabia and Syria, and was born in Missouri. Everything international - including folkilore poetry, and cuisine - are her passions. She continues to direct projects that help refugees resettled in Dallas. She'll gladly show you how / where to ride the bus for only 35 cents US or when the local tianguis (markets) are held. Or the best place to lie in the sun down on the Los Muertos Beach.
