If you are looking for a large place to host a group, for a family gathering or other, this is the perfect place for you!
The place has 6 rooms and can sleep up to 14 people. There is a fully-equiped kitchen, a comfy living area and a large terrace. There are two full bathrooms (shower/bath/toilet).
In the summer, we run the place as a B & B so to reserve better plan ahead. Note that (after some of the guest's comments) that if you rent the whole place you will be all by yourselves, no other people staying there.
The place is really funky. Crazy decorations, Pollock inspired walls, books everywhere, cool furniture...And the location? We are ON the boulevard, the Main as we call it, home to Leonard Cohen and Mordecai Richler, the hip Plateau neighborhood, and walking distance to the new hipsterhood, the Mile End. Everything is walking distance...The Mountain as we call it is just a couple of minutes away. The closest subway station is 10 minutes walking but there is bus 55 that does all of the St Laurent boulevard from the Old Montreal to Italian quarters. And if you are like me, you'll walk everywhere...Can't be better located....
You'll definitely enjoy the place!
The french Lonely planet (Le Guide du Routard) says: "the gem we dream of finding in a city...." You won't be disappointed!!!
You can rent the whole place or simply one room, in that case, go to MY OTHER LISTINGS on the right-hand side to see different prices, choose your room and make a reservation.

Looking forward to having you stay with us
We came to Montreal for a 30th Birthday celebration and had a wonderful time. The house was perfect and we had plenty of room for our group of 10. Jean was very helpful and gave us great advice about the area and was very easy to contact while booking. House was situated in the perfect location to explore Montreal on foot, close to everything.
Thanks Jean, we had an amazing time.
We are a group of 11 students from University of Washington who were attending a national conference in Montreal. We stayed in Jean's place for 5 days and it was GREAT! The rooms were clean and comfortable and the apartment is large enough that there are plenty of places to hang out.
Jean left a wonderful recommendation list and we referred to it often. The neighborhood was extremely easy to navigate and just a short bus ride/walk/or metro to the Palais de Congres.
I highly recommend this apartment for large groups traveling together.
A group of college friends gathered from all over the US for a long weekend to catch up and reminisce after not seeing each other for more than 40 years. This property was perfect for us. The description of this property is spot on. The location is perfect. There are numerous excellent restaurants, bakeries and interesting shops within easy walking distance. Access to public transportation is convenient. As advertised, the decor is funky. The property is very clean. The terraces are comfortable. Jean is a great host- friendly, easy to contact, accommodating, and full of information about the Plateau and all of Montreal. He also has a good stock of tourist information on hand. A great experience all around,
Jean's house was perfect for our group of 9. The two decks were great and there was plenty of hot water. I'd be happy to go back any time.
As soon as we walked in, our group of 10 girls all said "this is perfect!" The place was clean and eccentric in decor, and plenty spacious for all of us. Through-out our 3 night stay, everyone kept saying how cute it was. We were sad we had to leave before getting to use the breakfast nook and porch out back. The place even had an ipod hook-up for us to play our music on, and was in walking distance from fun bars and restaurants!
Jean was also great at coordinating with us, provided more than enough linens and towels for us, and even left a map and helpful notes on parking and cool areas!
Great Location. Great Host. Great Place.
This place was perfect for our large group of 14. Plenty of space, beds, a nice patio and a large kitchen and common areas. We loved the space, the location, and Jean and Greg are the friendliest, most helpful of hosts. Highly recommended!
Jean and his place were so great! He wa very easy to contact and speak with about payment and arrival and departure, etc. The location of his place was wonderful and is definitely my type of apartment (my future home will look like that)! :p
I recommend anyone to stay at his place.
I came with a big group with my University club and we had the entire place to ourselves and it was perfect.
We had a short term water issue, but Jean was quick on getting it fixed for us, no biggy!
I will definitely be coming back with my group to Jean's.
thank you so much for your help and great character! :D
We had a great time at 9 et le demi. Jean was very welcoming and helped us get settled nicely. We really enjoyed the space - there was lots of room for our group of ten. We made use of the kitchen everyday and also enjoyed all that the neighbourhood has to offer. I would definitely recommend this place for a large group rental.
This B&B was perfect for our small group, we each had our own bedroom, clean and quiet and enjoyed the amenities left by the hosts. Breakfast, WiFi, music, books etc. The location was just around the corner from a metro station making it very easy to get around. Little Italy just around the corner so we enjoyed a dinner there, a great food market up the road and down further on St. Dennis Street plenty of shops and restaurants. It was also incredible value!
Excellent space. Incredible location right on the Main, can be a little noisy in some bedrooms but not too bad. Some rooms get pretty hot on a mid-July weekend with no A/C. The two decks are fantastic -- our group spent a lot of time relaxing and talking on the decks with take-out from the many nearby delicious restaurants. The host was very friendly and gave us plenty of info upon arrival. I would definitely recommend staying here.
