This spacious Bywater home can comfortably fit your traveling needs. It is a 'double shotgun', meaning that there are 3 rooms with the bathroom in the middle of the bedrooms, and the kitchen is located at the back of the house. It is approximately 900 square feet, very clean and minimally furnished. There is a comfy antique full bed, a queen size double thick futon, and an additional full bed. More beds can be added to accommodate your group as needed.

Accesso ospiti

There is laundry on the premises and a small backyard

Interazione con gli ospiti

The space is completely private, check-in is done with a lockbox and a code so you are pretty much on your own unless you need me for something. We are occasionally around to mow the yard or do outside maintenance, and someone is always a phone call away if anything comes up.
The house is a double, so there may be guests on the other side, but they do not have access to your space.

Il quartiere

A few blocks from a neighborhood hotspot of bars and restaurants, and access to the newly opened 'Crescent Park' that stretches along the river to the French Quarter.

Un giro nei dintorni

There is ample street parking, however off street parking can be arranged behind a locked gate with prior approval.

Altre cose da evidenziare

There are rogue chickens that sometimes roam the streets of the Bywater, Treme, St. Claude, Marigny, Uptown area, and anywhere else they find suitable (you won't find them in the French Quarter, though). I love them, most people find them charming, but for those that are exceptionally light sleepers I suggest earplugs if you want to sleep with the windows open and like to sleep in.

Lexi's place was a delightful little gem that I would gladly stay at again. It was clean and had everything that we needed. Lexi was easy to communicate with and helped us with flexibility on our check out date with no second thought! The neighbourhood offers a lot of different features and was constantly surprising us with the cafes, restaurants, and interesting spots of beauty. I highly recommend (as everyone else seems to) Bacchanal, the food is incredible and the atmosphere is a giant bonus! Also great to check out is Sneaky Pickle, Bywater Bakery, Satsuma Cafe, and Pizza Delicious. Crescent Park is a great way to walk to the French Quarter area which isn't that far away. Several of our Uber drivers seemed a little wary for us in the area and advised that we don't walk alone at night, but we never experienced any problems and everyone was very polite. The roaming roosters did make a stop in front of the house most mornings so light sleepers would probably want to have ear plugs. Also, the soundproofing for the shotgun house is a little lacking and we had the misfortune of some stompers next door so earplugs might be good for that also. Overall our experience was very good and we would gladly recommend Lexi's place!

Lexi was a great host, and the location in Bywater was a real gem to experience (though technically locals call the exact area unofficially the Upper 9th). We arrived without any hassle, and stocked with plenty of amenities for a basic stay. We appreciated the quirky art inside and out of the place, and is overall a very fun pad to check out.

My two girlfriends and I had a great stay at Lexi’s place. We had lots of space and all of the amenities we needed (kitchen, WiFi, towels, hair dryer, hangers, nice shower…). We chose Lexi’s house because it was very affordable (especially the week before Fat Tuesday), and because we wanted a more authentic, “off the beaten path” NOLA experience than we would have had at a hotel. We appreciated having a comfy and quiet place to go home to at the end of the night, a bit removed from the nightlife. The house is a mere 7-minute Uber drive away from the Fauberg Marigny/Frenchmen Street, and another minute or two from the French Quarter. I think the house’s location technically falls in the St. Claude neighborhood, just north of Bywater. It was fun to explore the colorful and diverse neighborhood, and while we loved the brightly-painted houses and cool galleries and the proximity to Bywater spots, I will mention that the location of this home is not for everyone, as it's not as gentrified as other areas of the city. As is true for most of New Orleans, walking around at night is not recommended. Some of our favorite nearby spots were Bacchanal for wine and cheese in a cool outdoor atmosphere (bonus: it’s next to an awesome abandoned Navy base); Elizabeth’s for brunch (praline bacon!); The Country Club for lunch and poolside cocktails (a great hidden gem); and the newly-built Crescent Park for walks along the river. Further east in the Marigny, we loved The Maison (good food too), Hi-Ho Lounge, and Allways Lounge for music, and the Frenchmen Art Market for jewelry, art, and other gifts. Lexi was a friendly host and was just a quick text message away. Overall, an excellent experience.

This place is great for the value. It's an easy cab ride to the French Quarter. There are some neat restaurants nearby in the Bywater (Elizabeth's and St. Roch Market). We were able to comfortably fit 6 guests into the house. One thing we did learn during our stay from the cab drivers was not to walk around the neighborhood at night.

I am originally from Wisconsin, and moved to New Orleans 10 years ago when I fell in love with the people and the culture. My husband and I are both working artists; my background is in photography and fine art printing and my husband works with metal and found objects. We live on the same street as the apartment and have 2 little boys, 2 dogs and 2 cats.
