This fully redeveloped quiet flat with high vaulted ceilings has its own separate entrance from the courtyard with the ground floor bathroom and larder with fridge, and the first floor kitchen with utensils & dishes, and combined living room & bedroom separated by an arch with curtain.
The flat with courtyard view is housed in the late 18th century cultural heritage palace built by Baron Zhiga Zois, a patron of arts from Trieste. Its Southeastern Gate opens to the posh Breg Promenade with tasteful restaurants & shops by the charming Ljubljanica river with weeping willows on its banks, spanned by the Shoemakers` bridge, and by the Triple Bridge at the bard Presheren Square as well as by a wood bridge in between. Its Northwestern Gate ushers into the artistic Krizhevnishka Alley with Shambala restaurant, Mini Theatre, Civic Museum, and the magnificent Ljubljana Festival site - the glorious 12th century Teutonic Knights Monastery Krizhanke - reconstructed & embellished by the famous Slovene architect Jozhe Plechnik. Next to it there`s The French Revolution Square holding Napoleon`s Obelisk, a vestige from the early 19th century short-lived Age of Enlightenment with Ljubljana as the capital of The Illyrian Provinces stretching from Venice to Dubrovnik. Facing the square is the bust of a romantic poet Simon Gregorchich, whose lyrics are still very much alive, nurtured by the graceful natural beauty of the turquoise Socha river.
The pedestrian area offers bike renting facilities, tourist boat piers, open air & sheltered market with Plechnik Arcade, Philharmonic Hall, The Academy of Music, The University Library & The Grand Head Office building, The Academy of Arts & Sciences, The Main Post Office, bookshops, restaurants, bars, pubs, pastry shops & bakeries, foodstores, corner shops, banks, department stores, and The Historic Congress Square leading to Cankar Congress & Entertainment Hall, Drama, Civic and fringe theatres, museums & galleries, The Parliament, Presidental & Government Palace, embassies quarter, Tivoli Park.
I should be very happy to talk to the guests about whatever interests them in the flat, Ljubljana, and Slovenia as well as about the epic turquoise Socha river.
The neighbourhood is rightly proud of its unadulterated beauty.
To the south, Zois palace is flanked by a thouroughare with ramified city bus public transport.
The pedestrian area is served by free of charge `Kavalir` electric vehicles and a tourist city train.
Nearest parking at Krizhanke open air car park or the Congress Square underground garage.
Hopefully, the guests do not smoke, and are willing to behave in my flat as they do at their own home.
