Located in Chilmark, Jennifer's house let us experience that side of the Vineyard for the first time. Communicating with her was easy, the house was clean, quiet, well-organized. It had a good lay out and we loved the outdoor shower and well stocked kitchen . The garbage you have to bring out. It was a quiet part of the island , with scenic farms, and about 30minutes from the big towns but close to charming Menemsha. We bought fresh sea food at the fish market there and watched the sunset. Lucy Vincent beach was also gorgeous and we enjoyed body boarding in the waves. Cost for a beach pass was $85 for car but worth it I think. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
The house is great if your looking for the old school MV feel. Jennifer let us check in early so we could get our Lucy Vincent Beach passes which was beautiful. The property is very private and perfect if you want to get away from the crowds. For the money you pay for being Chilmark it's about as good as you can get. We found the basement to be a little damp and needed the dehumidifier but it was provided. Other than that it was a great trip.
The house was well equipped for a family stay and very secluded for peace and quiet. The wifi was a bit slow, but I think that is an island problem and not the hostess'. Our hostess was kind and thoughtful and made our stay very comfortable with very clear advice that we needed as it was our first visit. I would highly recommend this hideaway on Martha's Vineyard!
Jennifer's house in the heart of Chilmark is unbelievable. You arrive at the end of this very secluded road greeted by deer, rabbits and beautiful trees and it opens up on the property in the middle of a clearing in the woods. I stayed with a group of friends and it was the perfect place to have dinner and a few drinks and just a short drive from Lucy Vincent and Menemsha. The house was very spacious and hospitable and a great place to sleep in. I'd highly recommend it and hope to get the opportunity to head back in the future.
My family and I felt at home immediately at Jennifer's place. Peace, quiet and nature surrounded us - and what would become our favorite beach was a short drive away. It may not be the most updated home, but to us it felt very appropriate and cozy for a New England island vacation. Jennifer's hospitality and personality made us feel that much more welcomed and at peace. Would recommend to any family looking to avoid the swell of crowds and carve out their own experience on Martha's Vineyard. Was hard a hard home to leave.
Jennifer's secluded Chilmark haven was a delight! It was peaceful, warm, welcoming and everything you could love about the Vineyard. Jennifer left us a batch of fresh grape tomatoes from her garden that were delicious and then let us stay an extra night because the first few days were plagued with rain. Jennifer is a lovely person and it was so great to hear about some of the history of the area. We definitely plan to stay again!
