Stay in a lovely restored farmhouse on 250+ acres of land in Dexter, MI. We are a working cattle farm with an orchard, garden, resident farmer (in a house on the property), acres of woods and miles of country roads. Lots of space! We are near the end of the Border to Border trail going to Dexter now and soon all the way to Ann Arbor! Located across the street from the University of Michigan Sailing Club. We're a convenient stay for University of Michigan events!

Lo spazio
Our farmhouse has been entirely renovated and includes new kitchen and bathroom, 2 bedrooms on the first floor and another bedroom on the 2nd floor. The farm is located 25 minutes from downtown Ann Arbor and 5 minutes from the Village of Dexter. The property has a wide variety of magical vistas and walks.

Accesso per gli ospiti
There are many acres to walk, both farmland and forest, maps provided, and if Farmer John is available he can give a tour of the cows. Lots of places to relax in the garden, as well. A fire pit area is available, with seating.

Altre cose da tenere a mente
The farm has a large garden and orchard which you are free to enjoy. Often in the summer there is fruit and other produce available.

The farm is home to herd of grass fed cattle, which is mainly a heritage breed called Ancient White Park. More details can be found by searching for Baseline Farm (AirBnB doesn't allow us to list the site) . If you would like to purchase beef for your farm stay, please let us know!

Feel free to walk the farm. The walk along the field edges is ~ 3 miles. There are around 150 grass fed cattle that graze the farm. They generally move to new pasture each day. Note: electric fencing is used! You also may see the horses on the farm. Tink is a miniature Shetland rescue; she wears a muzzle to keep her from eating too much. Smokey is a draft cross, and is gregarious.

The University of Michigan sailing club is located across the street. They often have introductory sailing lessons available. Check their website and reach out to them directly if you are interested.

I am a native Michigander, 20+ years here in Ann Arbor, and my husband and I have refurbished this house to give people a real farm experience in an enjoyable, relaxing country setting. I am involved in agriculture: I am an owner of Argus Farm Stop in Ann Arbor, a year-round every day farmers market, where our mission is to grow local agriculture by making it easy for consumers to get it all year every day! We have 200 farms and producers delivering fresh, local produce, meats and dairy throughout the year, and would love to have you visit if you come to Ann Arbor! My horses live here on this farm and there is no more relaxing place for me on the planet than this farm. When I travel, I like to experience neighborhoods and the real essence of the places I go. We have done a number of farm stays and have tried to create the best parts of them with this house, You can experience the out-of-doors or you can hang out indoors comfortably!

Let us know if you would be interested in a traditional Mexican dinner prepared while you visit. Emilio Guiterrez works at the farm and brings a wealth of knowledge about farming, food and journalism. He can prepare a menu based on your preferences that includes tacos (carne asada, pollo salsa verde, potatoes), tostadas, rice and beans. Generally $25/person.
