La casa está situada en un lugar privilegiado. Desde la terraza se ven tucanes, mapaches, colibríes....cerca de Manuel Antonio y Marino Ballena.

The apartment is hidden on a lush hilltop with stunning views of the rain forest below and the ocean in the distance. It is beautifully modern with a fully equipped kitchen. The living/dining space is spacious. There's no television but who needs one with the gorgeous views and lightning shows at night? The beautiful infinity pool is perfect for a leisurely swim and viewing the landscape. Each morning we were greeted by hummingbirds, toucans, macaws and other colourful birds. The property is landscaped beautifully with palms, papaya trees, banana trees, and even a ylang ylang tree which René pointed out as a key ingredient in Chanel No. 5! René, our host (David was on vacation), is the epitome of a super host. He provided us with a personal list of places to eat, shop, and visit. He arranged a zip line tour and when I lost my rental car key during the tour, he ferried us around while the replacement key was shipped from San José. We felt he truly cared for us and wanted us to experience Manuel Antonio at its best. This was by far the best Airbnb experience to date.

We loved staying at David and Rene's place. It is on the side of a mountain, so there is a steep climb to the property. They recommended renting a 4X2 vehicle to take the climb. We were able to see many birds from the balcony. I was thrilled to see the occasional Toucan. In the distance, you can see Macaw's that like perch in a tree near the GAIA hotel. Bring binoculars so you can see better. There are hummingbirds that visit the feeder on the balcony all day. Unfortunately, we missed the opportunity to use the pool because they needed to fix it while we were there, but David communicated that to me in advance of our arrival and further offered a discount due to the pool not being available. This property is close to Manuel Antonio and Quepos so you do not have to do a lot of driving while there. We also visited Playa Biesanz (on a weekday) and it is a great nearby free beach. Rene also recommended another beach, but sadly we did not have time to visit it. Rene was a great source of information and super friendly.

Our stay at David's home was wonderful and the apartment was perfect for was extremely clean and up to date, and the pool was such a fun feature for us in the evenings, watching the beautiful sunsets from the infinity (URL HIDDEN) was close to everything and though the roads in were intimidating to us at first, we came to realize they were fairly easy to navigate and getting in and out was no issue in our two wheel drive. David was very helpful to us if we needed anything at all. Highly recommended!

Our time at David's apartment was great! He had an amazing view an even better pool and overall they were super welcoming. They even went out of their way and made us some delicious dessert and gave us some candles when the lights went out. Their apartment was really clean and spacious. Overall it made our trip to Miguel Antonio/Quepos a solid 10.

Running with the theme of all other reviews of this property, our stay was absolutely incredible. David was an unbelievable host and the place was spectacular. The view is really quite something - totally worth the drive! Our group landed in San Jose and rented a car through Adobe Rent-A-Car (David offers a discount through them!) to drive out to Manuel Antonio / Quepos. I would highly recommend getting a car with 4-wheel drive, since the house is definitely on a pretty steep hill and tucked away. David provided us with picture directions for how to navigate to his property once you're on his road. We arrived in the evening, after the sun had already set, and those pictures were a life saver! You'll want it handy when you arrive, so be sure to save the email/PDF he sends to pull up. The views in the morning are unlike anything I had ever seen before and the infinity pool is an amazing touch. There is a grill by the pool and a grocery store (or 'Pali') about a 5 minute drive away to grab supplies and food, if you want to cook. The kitchen inside also has all the basic necessities. David was attentive anytime we needed anything (extra paper towels or toilet paper), which wasn't often, but he was always a text away. He was available pretty much all the time on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) - even if we needed a cab into town, he would call one for us and would usually be at the house within 15-20 minutes. It cost around $10 to get anywhere close by (5-15 minutes). Since the hill is so steep and a bit of a walk up/down, we took a cab if we wanted to leave the house and weren't driving. David also recommended a bunch of tours and activities prior to our visit. Some stuff wasn't available in the rainy season, but he booked everything for us and took the hassle out of everything. We were super appreciative of that. We did the Manuel Antonio National Park tour for $45 (a must-see) and you'll definitely want a guide and do it first thing in the morning (like 7-8am). As we were leaving the place was getting super packed, so glad we went early and had the trail mostly to ourselves! If you have a guide, they will have a telescope and you are able to get some up close looks as sloths, monkeys, insects and more. There are also two beaches that are only accessible via the park entrance, so be sure to bring either a change of clothes or walk with a bathing suit on! It's a very casual / leisurely walk and takes about 2.5 hours all in. You can also visit the National Park on your own if you just want to do the walk and spend a lot of time on the beaches there. Most of the locals did this and brought food/coolers to the beach. If I remember...

Living in Costa Rica since 2011, I'm from Normandy in France, I moved in south of France in Avignon in 2009 where I met my partner.
We were in vacation in 2011 in Costa Rica, we fell in love with the country.
We visited lot of houses and we found the place to stay. We rebuilt all to make a contemporary house.
We are two persons who love to travel, to meet people from other culture, also to make people feel really good in our place, it's our pleasure to make people have a good souvenir.
